Ros, have you tried a filter or a mask? Just a though...
hmm whats that smell and noise from the other room

What i can do is this, i autotrimed the heli last time when the gear was in the CG, as far as i remember the trim will remain in that state until i autotrim it again, right?

If i move the gear a little forward again, and hover it without autoriming it, and notice how much ill have to correct on the stick to keep it steady, if that is just some minor corrections now and then, i assume its not any critical, do you agree on that?

The thing with the a123s, is that they completely fill up the whole battery compartment, from front to aft, so i really have no space left for moving it forward or backwards...

Hey Nooobs, instead of pool noodle, how about a lightweight mesh connected to both skids? Like a snowshoe...

Rhett

I'm excited about this but I can't test it for another week...

Iven

It's going to have to wait for next winter. All the snow melted from the recent warm temperatures and rain fall. Maybe a fall project...

Target speed, 40 space knots, LMAO where do you take it from Ros?

All you have to do is piss me of, and attach me to the heli, and you got your blazing guns *muahahaha*

Dual wave motion guns man you really brought back some old skool memories. I remember watching that when I was a kid. Great job on your mount. Looks very professional.

thanks yank&bank. Ya I still remember rushing home from school just to watch it... then Robotech kicked butt.

This mount is a CopterFilms CF-30. I removed the sphere temporarily while I do my mods and tests.

Finished installing the larger booms and did a test flight. It looked vibration free. Time to do an onboard video test next.

I thought those wire dampers were only to be used in compression?

Nah, dont listen to Ros David

I found that the larger Enidines are stiff enough to work in hanging motion as well, maybe even better if the wire size is oversized compared to the weight of your load...

I'm surprised DKTek hasn't spoke up on this subject.

The Wescam, Flight Head & Stab-C mount's I've used, with FourSeasons Aviation here in Toronto, have high numbers of small(respectively) Endines, between the hard mount and the mounts "Mitchel Plate".

The RC AP mounts seem to have the minimum number of dampeners for the maximum weight you'll carry.

You might want to try more dampeners of a lesser weight rating, to achieve the stability you're looking for.

And for the record, the Endine dampeners on their Eurocopter AS 350 are in suspension; I believe there's eight groups of two, helical, roughly 2" in height.

They are in tension you are right Papatango, however there are many more and they are much stiffer then the ones I have tried and thus keep the mount from swaying on the eurostar.

With my brief stint with the CWR isolators I found that they dampen vibration perfectly but much like a bungee allowed too much sway for my taste. I am sure this problem could be mitigated with more isolators or larger/stiffer ones. The problem I ran into is you get into some pretty serious weight penaltys all on the nose of the heli.

Would it be fair to say, that the best performance of a mount on a large-ish RC heli, occurs when the heli is vibration free, and the camera is hard mounted?

Seems like all the discussion results point this way.
