In answer to your crappy English 5 reasons:

1.
1/ have eny of you that say model shops are crap bla bla werked in one. if so why coldent you make a change.
People who "work" at a hobby shop can't make changes, they are just employees.

2.
2/ you woldent go to tescos/morrison ect and aske for a discount
You can ask for a discount anywhere, and you very well might just get it. Ever heard of buying a floor model item at a discount?

3.
3/shops have over heads staff ect to pay for..
So do online hobby shops and they pay the same price, so why again is the local shop higher??

4.
4/ The peopel who werk in lhs are genraly modelers them selves
who wont to help others get in to the hobby ore advise other modelrs
on new things
Some are modelers, but 99.9% are not. They are there to sell you something, most of the time something you don't need, but they will tell you that you do.
They also work there for a paycheck, Not to "help fellow modelers out"

5.
5/yes the internet can be yousfull but genraly if you no wot you wont.
tolking to some one [not shouting] con be more informativ + being
abel to see wot yer bying helps
Oviously, you have no clue what the online dealers who are good shops have to offer, all offer great tech help, And 1-800 free phone calls.

6.
6/ can a computer put a heli together!
Nope, AND Neither can 99.9% of most hobby shop employees.

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

A few people have mentioned Graves RC here in Orlando, and well to be honest for a while it was a rocky road.

Now Mark Graves is back in the store and since he is a helicopter pilot first and foremost I have seen the heli department grow by leaps and bounds in just a few short weeks.

People will always have their favorite places to shop and their loyalty which is good as it keeps the LHS in business.

I for one will stick with Graves in the event that I need something NOW (like needing 2 4x8mm bolts last night at 6:45pm) as long as they stick by the local heli guys like Mark has vowed to, I think it will get back to the days of people hanging around the heli shop after work just to BS.

Over the past 40+ years I've purchased from a local hobby shop. Let me say I dropped a lot of money there over the years. I've never asked for a discount although sometimes they will give me one. One time "Mike" (a great guy and very helpful) asked Cindy what discount he should use? She asked me what club I belong to. When I answered I don't she said no discount! Interesting that I'm penalized for being able to fly out of my own back yard! I have a little over 3 acres with a landing pad with "no" neighbors surrounding me. Considering I have to drive over 30 miles round trip a simple smile or hello would have been enough given the amount of time I've been going there. I could go on with other stories but I won't. I guess its my problem that I'm flying high end helis and they never have parts. Sure they can order them but then its another trip to visit Mrs personality.

I've ended my business with Al's Hobby Shop this month. I entered the store said Hello to her and Mike. Cindy couldn't even raise her head to make eye contact or say Hello. I guess her business is that good that she doesn't need any customers!

For what its worth...

Mike I'm glad you brought us up to speed on Graves and I am also happy that they are working to change things around. I sure used to love visiting there when I get down to Otown. I'll give them another chance.

No, not literally. But if you log onto RR you will get way more help than anyone at any of LHS's around here could give you.

If hobby shops match internet pricing why don't they just simply put up a sign that says so? Or better yet, maybe mark the items with the pricing in the first place. If I walk into a retail store and something is labeled for $100 I assume it must cost $100, not $85.

yes good idear.but it gose like this a shop has to by stuff in
and then set the price for a profit for over heads ect.
and som of the items will stay on the shelvs for a whial [dead] mony

when you bye from the internet it genraly comes from a wherhouse or some thin simaler [cheeper to stor on avrage] therfor it can make
it cheper for some one to sit at a computer and send it strat out.

I bought my bnf mcx at my LHS 143$ Canadian
it was only a couple of bucks with tax, more than the website I usually go to. They had a ton of car, truck and plane stuff but the heli's were slim pickings, you would not be able to outfit a heli to rtf status, at least not to the specs I would want.
Someday they might get a grip on the heli stuff.
I was going to buy parts for my 450 but they had nothing

BTW whats with all the bad spelling

Wrong again.
Online retailers like Ron's or Heliproz's pay the same price small hobby shops do. They also have hobby shops that they have to pay overhead on just like your hobby shop does.

Local shops can and do charge high prices because they don't expect the customers to shop their price, mainly because they are the only "store" around.

Good shops keep their prices competitive and their staff friendly and knowledgeable.

and helibaby, what the heck?? Have you never tried using a spell-checker? Its one thing to have just a few mis-spelled words in someone's posts, but your posts are downright painful to read
