Too Expensive, I don't think folks are willing to pay $30 more because they have a 500 ... Plus they are Custom made so reorder time would be 45 days ....No good!

Sorry ....
Thanks Dr Tim,

As I really want to build a Cobra, (I'm saving the Apache for the 600 ), so I'm going to get a Swift.

For the guys building the Cobra using the Swift mechanics, which ones do I need?

Mark.

It flew at the Birmingham event! Lots of work to do yet, but at least it is flying.

Thanks Dr. Tim, the flybarless system is working much better with the faster servos. Lots of detail work to do, but I'm very pleased with the progress so far. Looks like the new motor battery combination should yield 11 minutes of flight time.

The plain Swift 16 mechanics work very well.

The cockpit is built in such a way, that it can be removed for flight and reinstalled later for static display. Remove the canopy, pull out OR install the cockpit....good to go! (haven't flown it yet so I'm NOT sure about CG with cockpit in place...the pilots have rare earth magnets so they also can be removed very quickly)

Very nice cockpit there BustedWingNut, very nice,

I'm thinking along the same lines as WrenFlyer, just the upper torso.
want to keep the weight down so I can fly with them in place.

Having a "built-up" cockpit like this doesn't give much room to animate the gun. A "half-deck" would probably work very nice, though, and you really can't "see" the lower portion of it anyway in the static displayment. Thank you all for the kind appreciations.

Not sure who to ask about this.... My drive train system seems "TIGHT". It takes a bit of effort to turn the mechanics "with" the belt and tail rotor connected. After getting everything to turn, though, it frees-up, but it seems that there is considerable torque....not silky smooth as with our pod-N-booms. (suspect area IS the built-up 45 at the tail, listening to the belt go accross the gear.) Is this normal? Burnt-up my ESC/bec from my Swift kit, perhaps it wasn't strong enough to contend with this OR I really screwed something else up in the build.

I have not tried it out in flight yet but when I had all the drive in and turned it by hand you can feel it has more resistance than the boom and pod. I do have a counter shaft and with the angle pulley system it does produce more drag. I don't know how this will play out with the .39tt engine but will see. Maybe your ESC could not handle the extra load.
