Ok, I got up early and swapped out my 2 motors in my Lama V4 with the new extreme 180 motors and I must say they are much better and lots more power too. I was happy to increase my flight times by 3 or 4 minutes. I also put a set of extreme blades on it also.
Now to swap out the cheap servos on my Mini Titan with the
HS-65mg's I picked up!

I just got back from a few flights in the wind with a problem to fix. The tail kicked out 90* on my 3 times while I was flying. Once during a flip, once during a fast decent and once during a fast backward flight back to myself. So I looked at things careful to find that the tail pulley was slipping on the shaft. It takes a decent amount of force but it does slip.

Now I have a brand new one on there and I will see how that does. They are the press-on tail pulleys and I have heard of them slipping before but never had a problem with my heli until now ... or really yesterday is when I first noticed it.

I also had to replace the soft green dampeners on the head as the spacer was being forced under them and making the head off balance. Now I am running the hard arse black ones and actually like them just fine.

So I guess you could call today Rex maintenance day.

Installed the Digtal Hyperion DS11 SCB's into the flybarless EXI.
Won't know the diff until I do some hard flips and forward flight. Hovered fine.
Moved an RX to another EXI and started to pull out the cheapo motor in it to put one of the other Alpha 400's I have into it.
Put the original RTF cheapo radio back into the foam 54" Extra fixed wing I have. Gonna test fly it then crash it into my Striker 100 w/ the help of someone at the field. Hope to make a video out of it.

Finished and installed the cut down Align blades for the HBK2. I put them on the Helimax balancer and amazingly they were spot, CG as well. Flew one pack with them and love the way the red looks with the red accents on the HBK3 canopy.

They sound a bit different than the CF blades I was running and they feel a little snappier. They are about 5 grams lighter than the CF blades.

Greggor,
Got pics of these cut down blades?
Since I'm using a trex sized head, I've been using Exceed G2 fiberglass blades from Xheli. I had these as spares to my Exceed G2 that does not fly as well as the HBK2 so it is collecting dust.

If anyone has a trex/copterx sized head on their HBK2, you can get these or Walkera 32 blades to fit your HBK2.
They are 288mm

Melnic,

I'll get some pics as soon as I can. I'm using the process that user Besho posted about a year ago. He has more details and pics in his thread.

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t415778p1/

I cut mine down to 280mm which is the same length as the HeliMax CF blades I run.

Worked on the Hughes 300 semi-scale conversion of my EXI squadron.

Canopy is that thin plastic but worked on getting a solid mounting. I't held on the bottom and in usual top mounts where the tanks are.
I used vinyl I had to do the yellow on the boom and tail.

Greggor, that seems like it would be hard to make sure the grips are on straight. Is it?

Its not that hard. I do the rough cut on each blade separately. Then I used painters blue tape to tie them together with the tips aligned. Taped together I sand them and then drill the holes. That ensures they are symetrical. My paint job sucks and I'm messy with the CA attaching the black plastic pieces to the wood. But they fly great.

It is actually pretty easy to get the grips back on straight. Just use an uncut blade to make the holes and then put them on. As for cutting them off, I just use my pocket knife and utility knife. Works well.

Oh and I did work on my helis today. I put some 335mm blades on the Rex and started to work on the Raptor. I robbed the rx out of the plane and hooked it up to the R30. Yep all the servos work and well ... I got them all working in the correct directions but that is about all I have figured out so far. I need to figure out a few more things and get some extensions for the gyro. Then I need to try starting it and that should be where the fun starts.

I just finished mating my EXI head with my Esky head.

The motion seems smooth and locked in,
I did it mostly to free up the old esky swash so I have two matching large metal swashes to make a larger scale set of dynamic stabilizers for testing on the e550.

Also I replaced every ball link possible with the better EXI ones.

So does that make this hybrid an ESKEXI?

TJ, your photo file name gives it way, but My guess was Raptor 30 anyway

My youngest is a 3 year old, I'm slimed every day.

Does looking at 3 potential projects to work on for the next hour and deciding to go to bed on time count as work?
