Sounds awesome OH-6. Let me know when! Nice pics too. Its hard to see a 450 under that skin! All I am used to seeing is the skinny bones on mine. Big difference

If the weather is nice tommorow than we might meet than, if not maybe next weekend. But I'll call you as soon as I hear from him and let you know or send you a pm if there's enough time. It's going to be great and you'll get to see the airwolf fly.

By the way if you're still having trouble with orientation, get a scale fuse and that's going to end all your problems! Plus it's going to be a lot more stable and you'll be able to see it from far away!!

I guess I won't be joining you guys, you never sent me a map... he he

Just a wet rainy day today... I've spent today re-arranging things insude, bought another pegboard, so have three now (2x4 sheets) and tons of different pegs etc. I picked up some Rustoleum Glow in the Dark paint. I just happened to have a whole set of white for the Blade 400 (Canopy, fins, tail blades, paddles) and have painted them with this stuff, its gonna take a few coats, and it won't airbrush on, you have to brush it on, but it might be cool, charge it all up under the car headlight, then turn off the lights and try flying... I'm gonna paint a set of wooden blades if the tail blades work out. Just a gimmick I guess, but what else is there to do on a rainy day... he he

I also ordered a new motor for my Blade 400. Check out Sokals video, as soon as I saw it, I logged onto the site and placed my order

This is not my video, this is SOKAL, he's a much better pilot than I am, he shows off what this motor can do.

I sure hope I can do more than hover tomorrow... The forecast for all weeks is windy And the club field is too soggy to get into now with all this rain, hopefully well get some cold weather and the ground will freeze up again.

lol sorry about that odam just sent you the map, I forgot you lived well right across the country but hopefully you make it

that motor is intense, and your flips I can just say WOW!! I guess your problem was a lack of power huh, or have you just been practicing a lot?? Can you do them lower now?? Great flying though, it looks like your well into becoming a pro!

Before installing the fuse on the 450 I couldn't really fly high with the tail in I lost all orientation as it just became a little spek on the sky. But that fuse helps a lot and I'm getting used to it, it actually isn't that bad of a power loss and it has tons to spare!! I guess I was just nervous at first, but I do love landing it you really have to be careful not to slam it and you also have to watch the tail rotor and keep it from hitting the floor. I guess all that precission landing before putting it on paid off!

Uhm, I wish those were my flips... I'm still a crappy pilot...

Thats Sokal flying, he's been flying a lot longer than I have, in fact, he helped me out a lot when I was getting started. He's sort of a Blade 400 guru for a lot of people... I just posted the video to show what the motor can do....

Thanks for the map... I'm just gonna grab a shower, then I'll head out. Don't start without me, I should be there in uhm, well, when I get there eh? he he

hehe well atleast your well in your way to getting to that level of flying, unlike me I wimped out more like cheaped out of flying 3d

By the way it's drizziling outside and I really hope the sun comes out later.... This is what bothers me about the weather here, one minute it's beautiful outside the next it's either too hot or it just happens to be raining. I sure hope we get a chance to get together and fly a little!

Hey sonny where are you man, how are you holding on???? Stay strong!!

I went out this morning, the wind was quite calm, but by the time I got to the park to fly, the wind had picked up. Now, I don't mind a bit of wind, I think its great practice, but today, we had wind at 60km/h gusting to nearly 100km/h (40mph to 60mph) so there was no flying today

Just ordered it... hope it gets here quick I'm looking forward to it.

I picked up some more air brushes today, and a bunch more paint. Practicing on paper for now, found some youtube vids with basic techniques. They suggest picking up some coloring books and using them to practice brushstrokes, so I grabbed 3 spiderman coloring books at the dollar store

lol good choice I should go get some myself!! Hey my friend from today gave me his blade 400 to check because he was having major vibration problems! Well I attacked the simplest and most easy thing first which is to remove the blades and spool up the heli, well no more shaking and I was checking the blades and one seems to be much heavier on the tip than the other so that narrows it down even more. Have you had any vibration problems with your blade 400 if so how did you fix them? I'm sure it's the blade balancing but your imput would be much helpful!

hey guys. sounds like everyone's having fun. i just got finished ordering parts for the rappy. $144, do i know how to crash or what! been dialing in the 450 as well. when i get her setup perfect i think i may sell her. it's a 450 se. i may use it to partially fund a new vibe 50. we'll see. i hate to let go of the 450 but the new vibe is amazing. also i've grown to really like the nitros, and i don't fly at home much anymore. i'd rather go to the field and fly the bigger birds. anyways, just thought i'd drop in and say hi.

hehe I hear ya ruddernate, I hope you stop by more often!!

Well fellers I was right, the blades were way out of balance and after balancing them a little no more vibes!! I ended up using A LOT of tape though so I'll recommend him to get a new set of blades, and I'm going to get the balancing tool because I don't have one and it'll save me tons of time!

hay guys sounds like you all had some fun today i did get a chance to do some hover training in the drive way today with my 400 it sure is flying better now that i have tightened it all up again lol and reballanced the blades still have a tracking issue to figure out but its flyable and alot smoother than it was.
.
hoy oh-6 dont buy the helimax ballancing tool i baught one and it broke verry quickly not verry good so i am looking for a better one to buy. cheap plastic stuff just isnt worth the money. also need a small digital scale for weighing the blades. baught my girlfriend a digital camera so hopefully i can put some videos on here soon to.
take care all

Hi Guys,

Here are some videos from our Sunday in the park. Sorry for some of the lame shots, but I played more than I videoed. The weather held out and no wind. This was my first outing with other heli guys and I had a blast! Met some cools poeple today. Thanks all. I will post some more video ASAP.

Hey Odam, Thanks for the rain and snow last night! Although it just missed me, San Antonio did get some sleet and rain. Wish some of our sun would make it up your way. Wished you could have made it today!

Cool videos... Looks like a great park to fly in, tons of room. The weather sure looked nice It looks like I may get to fly this morning, but certainly not in those conditions, he he

RudderNate, what happened with the Raptor? Do tell!

OH-6, yep, blades are probably #1 cause. What started the vibes? Did he crash and rebuild? New blades, anything else? Usual causes are blades/spindle/main shaft, and even bad tracking. If its a very high freq vibe, its likely from the taqil, which rotates at a much higher speed than the main blades, could be the tail rotor shaft, blades (maybe a nick in one?) or even bearings. Of course, tail moving left right probably gyro, up down probably low head speed...

I have the helimax plastic balancer, ands yeah, you have to be careful you don't break the pins off the blade holders. ?It does work ok though, but I should have bought better quality, since I now balance the Raptor 30 blades on it to, and they are pretty heavy.
