OH-6, I have Align 610's on cyclic, and a 620 for the tail. Still not sure it like the 6V battery. Some of the threads I have read here say the 620 - 401 gyro combo hate 6V... I do have a step down resistor

I believe it is the 401 that hates 6v. The 620 will take it all day long.

yeah papa sal i think the 620 is good at 6 volts just not the 401, you'll burn it up so i hope you don't crash over that...

how do you like the 610's though??

OH-6, you like those servo's really well, you would be surprised at how many people are using them. If they work out of the box they're good to go. Fast and durable. I am running my cyclic's at 7.4 volts from a lipo through the AR7100r receiver. No issues. Are you flying your 600 yet? I think I read you had a nitro and had test flew it.

++++++++1 DS 610's ROCK! All metal gear and fast!.....AND cheap. Grand R/C sells a 4-pack for $221.00& free shipping. They'll even give you a new customer discount! The Align's also have 166in.oz of torque too! Can't break em..... The 620 have less torque but they are even faster!

I got into airplanes also not sure if you guys saw the video but here's the second flight with the trainer I hope you guys like it.

I'll keep that in mind papa sal! Do you fly planes also? I'm honestly so glad I flew helis before planes, I was so comfortable with orientation even when it was coming straight at me all I did was use rudder and a lil aileron. It just came natural which was so amazing!

By the way the two landings that I have under my belt I don't know if you could tell from the vid but I lifted the nose so the main gears would make first contact. My only problem was getting it to slow down because even with flapperons it still comes down too fast! I'll be trying spoilerons and see what happens...

I'll try and get some 610s for the trex!

If you want the plane to slow down while coming in for a landing just set your idle lower or go to a smaller pitch prop. That trainer plane should just float in with no power at all. Get the 610's you won't regret it.

kc8qpu thanks for the advice! i have noticed that during start up and ground handling the iddle is fine but i guess as the engine warms up the iddle seems to raise. i don't know why it does that but I also don't want to get it too slow to were it cuts out on me what would be a good rpm for iddle and also how do you know the plane is tunned well? after every flight i have to wipe a lot of oil from the side of the plane, it's literally covered with oil! THanks for the advice with the servos by the way!!

As long as you fly nitro you will always be wiping off oil. As for the idle I will set mine so it barely runs then go up a few clicks. The prop change will help out a ton. Go down one pitch size will make a huge difference. I am running an 11x5 on my trainer plane.

yeah the cleaning is no biggy it's just that the whole side is covered with it lol i don't think it's normal lol. I don't know anything about props and such i don't even know which one i have on it right now? Is there a way to find out? if i do swap it get one with less pitch or more? oh by the way with your method of setting the iddle has it ever cut out on you?

The day i filmed that video i was running it with too slow an iddle and it cut off while in the ground ill probably try the prop swap it just seems safer imo...

OH-6 On the front of your prop you'll see the "brand name" And the #'s 11X6 or 10X7...ect. I use to fly my .40 size trainer on 10X6= ( 10in. dia.X 6deg pitch). After you get flying your curcits fly a little higher and drop your throttle to idle while you're in the air and start pulling your elevator stick back to slow down your plane.....practice flying as slow as you can without stalling.....maybe even stalling (stopping) your plane a couple of time while high enough (recovery time) will show you how she flies and performs at that speed, it will also show just how slow your little planker will fly....GREAT for landings! Yes I've been flying for 43 years......GULP! I LOVE anythig that flies. I've been flying heli's for 5 years now. It's AMAZING how heli flying gets your reflexes sharp! I could never catch anything that was thrown to me...VERY clumsy....But now I have "Heli sence"......LOL. Get some rubbing Alcohol for all the oil....works great! Yes your plane or nitro heli will always look shinny with all the oil left behind. With that said you'll want to keep an eye on all your control surfaces and engine's firer wall( they'll get soft after a while) That's when it's time to move to "low wing" trainer.....then....."scale warbirds"..OR ???? Make sure you don't lean out yor engine too much. I use to hold the plane verticle over my head and " run up" to full throttle and lean the engine out ( with a full tank) untill the engine starts to "race" then back off the high needle two clicks. THEN set the slow needle (if-n she has one) so that the engine idles very slowly and when you pull down the throttle trim all the way she'll shut off......HAVE FUN
