Hey guys,, I have a newer O.S. Hyper 50 with a Mp2 pipe, on my TREX600 nitro, I just got the engine broke in, I have ran about 9 tanks through it, I have it tuned so I can touch the backplate after a 3 minute 3d flight and I can hold my finger on it for about 3 seconds, it is warm but not hot, , anyway I can bang it around and when I go into a inverted hover and hold it, it leans out alot,, I mean it is obvious, I have never had this happen, I am wondering what is going on , didn't know if anyone has had any experience with this, I am running 30% Cool Power fuel,, I have it on a revmax set at 2130 headspeed, but it only starts leaning when I hold it inverted, any thoughts,,

I don't know, if you're using a header tank, but when you're using one, it's very important that it's mounted in line with the carburator. When it's mounted higher than the carburator, the engine runs lean in inverted hover /flight, when it's mounted below the carburator, the engine runs too rich when your heli is upside down. With a ys engine, you can install the header tank "where you want", because the crankase pressure is much higher than any muffler pressure and so the level of the header is insignificant.

Jongurley--
I second the header tank...
Also lean is a indication of air, thus reducing (leaning) your mixture you have set on the helicopter...
I would look at the clunk line and see how it transitions from upright to inverted.. It may be hanging up or not flexing right!
Meaning when you go inverted it is slow to flex into the fuel!

Reconfirm you have adequate muffler pressure also....

I would also address the "2130" RPM on a MP2... I seems high, you may not want to push that Hyper that hard till you solve the lean thing going on.... Or look at the MP5SB out for "Stick Bangers"

Hey, Just my opinion to save the engines life!

When I roll it to a inverted hover,, it leans out all of a sudden and stays lean, it doesn't fluctuate, it is a constant , you know what I mean, it doesn't act like air bubbles or anything, I will take off my header tank tommorow and try it without it,, and what pipe to do you guys reccomend, I was thinking either a Align or a Hatori(kraus),, I would love to go with the Align I hear it is a damn good pipe,,

I would go with a Hatori 522, better quality and sound than the Align Pipe and makes the same power.

Look into getting a govenor, will stabilize your RPM and no more problems with it leaning out.

Courtis youngblood ATG is a good one. runs about $90 Cdn.

Use softer clunk fuel tubing, will solve it every time.
