Been flying piano wires a long while, no problems, seems there was a guy that lost a heli cause a bearing in the tail case went bad and the tail rod vibrated into the resonant frequency of carbon. Lost the rod and well you know what happened to the heli.

Id say keep the wire.

My 2 cents

Try this one:

Just use your existing push rod guide and self tapping screw with the tail guide loop and your set.

I posted this awhile back for someone else. I still haven't gotten around to taking a picture of it but I'll try to borrow a camera tonight and get some shots.
I don't have camera handy at the moment. However, make sure you order the complete kit that comes with the guides. They are just a little plastic guide with a slotted screw hole...it screws perfectly into the stock Align guide. With the Align guide set perfectly vertical, the MA guide comes off at about a 90 deg angle to hold the push rod. The push rod it so stiff that only one guide is needed.

I'll post a photo as soon as my camera comes home.

close-up of how the MA guide mounts 90deg to the Align guide.

The rod comes over sized so you have to cut it to length and JB Weld the threaded ends in.

This makes for a very solid and incredibly smooth tail.
