I had my first flights today with my Vibe and 7100R/TT53. I was having troubles getting consistant rpms. While taching it, it would run a while at 1980, then 2030, then back down below 2000... all without changing any settings. I think it is a problem with the backplate sensor. Mine sits right against the case. I haven't tried spacing it yet, but that is first on my list. Has anyone else tried this combo yet? I am running the 7100R in my 600N with a Multigov sensor/magnet and it is working great. Any tips would be appreciated.

I think you are suposed to have

a 1/16 inch gap.. maybe that is it.

I found the easies way to do this is to stick a washer to the end of the sensor(it is magnetic so it will stay there) and then tighten the screws just tight enough that the sensor will move with mild resistance. Pull the sensor fully extended then install. It will slide back to the perfect position. Remove carefully and tighten screws on sensor.. remove washer and reinstal... perfect gap!

In life there is no spacebar!

The instructions say "When installed, the rpm sensor should just contact the back plate." I have heard it works backed off a bit but I tried it against the backplate first per the instructions (always a mistake ) Thanks for the mounting tips, I'll give it a shot and see if it helps.

I had somewhat of the same problem, so I backed off the sensor and it's working great. I also found this on Spektrum's website: http://www.spektrumrc.com/Articles/...?ArticleID=1806

Thanks for the link JodyJ. I tried it again today with about 3/4mm spacing from the backplate and it worked like it does on my 600.

I also hooked up an older Multigov to the sensor on the bench just to see what the sensor reading would be. Even with the spacing, it was reading 99 during the sensor test.
