Run the firmware loader and it will do the rest for you. You will be given an option to automatically get it from the web.

Yes it does because the memory needs to be restructured. However as the PC protocol remains on Rev.2 you can save the settings to your PC before the update and then put them back after.

DUH!!!! sorry I forgot about that. That's what I did with 1.07.

When I updated one of my gyro's it asked me for my model type, tail servo type and e-mail. Is there a problem it found or what?

Your gyro has logged a brown-out. In general a brown-out happens when the voltage drops so much that the gyro is unable to continue normal operation. With firmware 1v08 when a brown-out happens the ds760 reset the CPU and when the voltage comes back to operating levels it performs a controlled restart into a calibrated state using saved data.

A side effect of this functionality (which is probably what you just experienced) is that if you power off the receiver and back on quickly the voltage may have not dropped to zero which makes the ds760 thing it is a brown-out instead of a normal power on. If you are using an ESC, BEC or regulator with large capacitors you may need to leave if off a little longer before the turning it on again.

Brown-out detection is a very useful functionality which can save the heli and also allow as to identify possible problems in the power system and inform the customer. However, for it to be meaningful rapid power cycles need to be avoided to allow the gyro to distinguish the brown-out from the normal power on.
