Yesterday I was doing piroflips with my nitro sport and when I let go of the rudder the heli still continued to piro. I hit the throttle hold switch and realized that the bird was over water thanks to the recent rains which had turned our field into a lake! Luckily I managed to land right at the edge of this mini lake. There was no damage but the link from the rudder servo to the tail control arm had come off from the tail control arm. So I changed the link and ball and got flying again. After a funnel and tail slide I started a backwards hurricane and suddenly the tail just let go. Again I managed to get the heli down in one piece Then when I gave rudder input the servo, a futaba 9256 wouldn't move. I went home and before changing the servo gave a rudder input and the servo worked fine Still I took it out and noticed it was a bit warm near where the lead exits the servo. This Gy611/9256 combo has over 200 flights and a few crashes. Recently I haven't crashed but I guess it could still go bad. I later flew with the other servo and it was fine. I'm running a 6v setup with a stepdown for the tail servo. I'm now seriously tempted to get a Spartan/JR8900 combo for my under construction nitro sport.
