I thought I would give you guys another update on my wife. As most of you know, my wife underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy for breast cancer. She then underwent another surgery to remove additional lymph nodes under her right arm. The 14 lymph nodes removed were all free of cancer, which is great news! Last week, we then met with her medical oncologist (chemo doctor). The chemo doctor said that if my wife didn't do chemo, she would have about a 19% chance of the cancer recurring. However, if she does have the chemo, that chance is reduced to about 6%. My wife has decided to do the chemo which will start in about 3 weeks. She will have to do 4 treatments at 3-week intervals. So, the whole process lasts about 3 months. Because my wife's breast cancer was early stage, the chemo doctor also said that the chemo drugs she will be given aren't as harsh as some of the other chemo drugs used for later stage cancer. She will still probably lose her hair, but should have somewhat limited side effects.
All of her doctors are also saying that she should be able to live out a normal life. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
