Loose ball races …
I think it is a common problem with the old design Predator swash. I like the new design much better because of accessibility and also it appears as though the pivot ball is running on metal races as opposed to the old design being plastic. Should be much more reliable … we will see.
I believe what happen with the plastic races are the surfaces contacting the ball wear and then the races become loose (swedged design). The instant the swedge fit becomes loose the plastic races can spin which then cause tremendous wear and may even cause a static problem for the API. The top race has warn the aluminum housing at least .020 inch bigger in diameter. That is the transitional slop that everyone experiences.
I am excited about the new designed swash but even then I had to chop off the useless appendage the instant I got it before I mounted it to the mast. It just looked to me like it would be giving the finger.
What could be more fun?
