... Thats what I am having trouble with right now! I love the way it looks! I just want to sit in the chair and stare at it. Tomorrow I have a fun fly to go to, and I don't want to get it dirty!

Nice, that thing looks huge! I know exactly what you mean, once your heli is setup spot on and looking nice the fear of crashing intensifies, for me anyway. I try not to get too attached because at the end of the day (literally usually) your going to crash it! But I guess that could just be my flying style, if I had no intention of learning new tricks I probably wouldn't crash. I bet you dont try new tricks with that baby, I bet you have a Raptor 50 or Trex 450 for practicing right?

60% of the time, it works every time!

It is just like that new car feeling! Thanks, and I hope everything goes well tomorrow too!

Richardmid1

It is quite large; measures at exactly 7 feet from tail blade to main blade:

In regards to tricks and such, I do have a Raptor 50 and a Pantera 50. You are correct that I really don't want this helicopter to be my experimental.

Red-RX7,

I too know the feeling. Its your baby, and you just want to protect her from the mean out side world. You want to make sure she has everything she needs in life. You want to clean her when she is dirty and make sure she is always feeling great.

YOU SISSY!!!!

GET OUT THERE AND FLY IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT.

That's a great looking heli.

Very nice looking machine. The low angle nose on shot is awesome.

What happened to the other canopy, did it get damaged when you broke-in the eng. the first time? (maybe I shouldn't have said that!). Anyway, looks good. I know you've had a long haul with your gasser.
Good Luck!!!

Ha! I was very much planning on flying it that way today; but Mother Nature decided to let it rain. Hopefully it passes by so we can have a successful funfly.

Naomi is mostly correct. It started out as a pure Vario Benzin Trainer. Yet, I had a throttle servo fail causing more than 600.00 in damage on the very first engine start (Click Me For Details). Since that occured, I used Air Star Int parts from the tail grips back. The only other Air Star Int part is the JetCopter canopy that you see.

Thanks!

Heli 770

The other canopy is fine and wasn't damaged from the servo failure. I wanted one that was painted so I could have better orientation. I was offered a very good deal on this, so I took it. At first, I didn't like the JetCopter canopy from the online pictures, but now I love it that it is installed.

Thanks for the jinx as well! Hopefully the rest of the helicopters life will be "easy flying".

Thanks!

Mike

I read your story

man that was so sad..... I must admit I have been going to fit a spring to my raptor 50 for a long time now as I really believe the servo wont be effected by a spring but if you loose a servo or battery or switch it might just save some damage

If you don't want to get it dirty, fly electric.

Just kidding ... great looking machine ... enjoy!

(And yes, I do have the urge to ogle any machine that I've just put together with care.)

My buddy and I do this all the time

we call it "admire time" at the end of a building session we have to have admire time... this is more with jets than helis.. but we do admire

Had a great time admiring the Benzin at the Kansas Heli Gathering. That is a very nice heli. You can't really appreciate the detail from the pictures.
