I checked on that trade up program a while back. You can't trade in any thunder tiger helis. I guess its to encourage the purchase of their products by taking the other ones away. Also, the heli has to be sent in and the most from what I have been told that you will get as credit toward another one is 75 dollars. So, think of it, you can trade in your evo 50, 600n, vibe 50, and even the avant aurora for 75 dollars each. And if any of you want to trade your vibe 50 or avant aurora for 75 dollars, see me first. I'll give you 76 dollars each for them. LOL.

Somehow, I see ACE getting buttloads of crashed, crappy little e-Bay electrics on this program . . . . about the only thing worth trading in for just $75 . . .

I'm not sure. I had my local guy call. The 75 dollars is the most they will pay. Its based on the heli. So, you may get less. And I was told that they won't take certain items based on age. Of course, you can call them and ask. I don't have the info first hand, I got it from the local hobby shop.

yeah that would suck $75 credit but if you have to shipp out the heli thats another $25 to $35 less, and they turn around and sell it for more,if thats the case i think i might go into the trading business and doit my self and offer a bit more then they do

I think some are missing the point. I would think this program is aimed at people who have some other brand heli. It's stagnant, sitting on a shelf. Ace gives you $75 for something you werent using anyway and for whatever reason never got around to selling. In return they get a guy into a Raptor and hopefully rekindle his interest in flying R/C helis. I seriously doubt they resell anything they take in trade. I think they are likely to see guys trying to trade helis like an old Century Hawk, a dust covered Hirobo Shuttle or maybe a beatup Venture 30cp. I think THAT is the guy they are aiming at. Not us. Like we here on RR need any help adding fuel to our sickness?! I have 14 nitro helis as it is.

ok so i get it,it seems they will buy back out of production helis as well as other of the current helis and give you a credit that you can use to buy any TT model heli,i think it sounds like a good idea exept $75 is really not worth the trouble, and from what i understand it is done through the local participating store

ok, so $75 doesnt seem worth it to people like us. But, I mean what really do you expect them to do? Offer you fair market value and give you a kit for free? That doesnt work either. Again, I cant imagine this is aimed at people like us so it's not hard to understand that the program doesnt appeal to us. To the guy who has some dust covered, cracked frame old shuttle he just cant seem make stop shaking and therefore stopped trying to learn to fly a heli, I think it makes a lot of sense. He can save up to $75 on a brand new shiny well supported and popular Raptor that he has a better chance of suscess with. There are a lot of guys out there who have tried helis and just cant make it work for them. Again, thats not the RR crowd.

I could see a guy with a beatup old heli he never could get to run, take it in and trade up. Like Marty said, its not aimed at people that already fly quilty helis. And 75 bucks is 75 bucks. To me its better then having a broken down, never going to fly hummingbird on my shelf.

I think Marty and Jal are on to something here. Look at the folks that have an Axe CP, Honey Bee King,Counter rotator, etc. This would be an excellent opertunity to step up from a $100 to $200 heli.

Ace will never see these heli's, they are just offering a $75 off coupon (old heli) for purchasing a new TT. The hobby shop owner can do what they want with the trade in's.

Now the good thing to do would be to dig around in your junk pile, find that POS heli you first bought trying to get into the hobby cheaply and crashed "more that you can count" times and give it to someone that is trying to get into the hobby on a budget.

Just my two cents and the value of a dollar right now it is only worth two mill. (For those not knowing what a mill is it is 1/10th of a cent)
