I'm just putting together my 1st 600 3D and have come across a few tail issues that I am a little concerned about.

Tail grip robustness. These are the smallest grips I've come across. Their size may well be an advantage with regards to minimising centreing forces as in chinese weights. Havent done these tests yet so we'll see. However the screw holding the grip to the hub is only M2.5. Has anyone had one let go ?

The pins on the pitch slider linkage to the grips are just friction fit. I would normally have expected a C clip ratainer. Has anyone had an issues with these pins coming out ?

The supplied tail blade bolts are not necked with the result that the threads can cut into the bushing in the blade. Normally I have allways used necked bolts so I'm curious why these wearn't supplied in the kit.

The method used to clamp the tailbox to the boom doesn't have any means to prevent it rotating. Do the clamps really work that well or is it advisable to use some CA for insurance ?

In my other helis, I've used metal pitch sliders and so on. However here, the instructions say to use loctite when threading the the plastic pitch fork onto the brass slider. Do they really mean this ?

On a positive note, two things I really like are the overall design topology of the tailbox and particularly the tail gear with sits over the hex nut and pin. Clever idea.

They mean ca, not loctite for the slider into the fork, "Just a small wick of it to...". As far as bolts coming out of grip or the ball links coming off of the grips with the incorporated balls, never had one failure on any of my Logos and all are running 2300+ HS.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

1) Don't worry about the size, very strong plastic
2) The pins won't come out, they are very tight, i put CA on the ends after assembly just in case
3) I wouldn't worry about the necked bolts
4) The clamps work very well
5) Use CA

Hope it helped, the logo 600 is one mean machine

And some more questions..............

After putting the head together, I noticed a very very slight amount of lateral play in one of the grips. I've used the recommended washer between the dampers and inner grip and expect it's slightly compressed more one side and would even out in flight. Do you shim them further ?

I have used the recommended 0.5mm washer between the lower main shaft bearing and tail drive gear. I noticed the clearence between the main gear an the cut out bit in the frames was very small. When stressing the shaft sideways as would be in sideways tictocs, I managed to get contact bewteen the gear and frames so I removed some material. Alternatively I could have added another washer. Anyones views on this ?

Still can't make my mind up over the ESC and motor. Unfortunately due to this being my 1st proper electric I'm severly lacking in experiance. Top of my list is currently Actro 32-2MAX and JAZZ 55-10-32. However, the soon to be released Scorpion motor and ESC sound pretty exciting. Ummmm, we'll I'm in no great hurry.

What's the no of flights life expectancy from electric motor bearings if a counter bearing is used ?

Hi, i wouldn't worry about the head play as long as its assembled correctly.

Also the logo 600 requires the 2 .5MM washers (manual says 2 for 500 and 1 for 600), use 2! Many people including me had to use 2 of them.

Also the motor is great but the ESC will get really hot, you need a better ESC if you want to push that motor.

Don't know about the motor life, but it would be a while.
A personally would not get the scorpion setup, no high voltage ESC's yet and the guy running the motor with 4.2KW rating was sucking so much out of his packs it would not last long.
The actro is crazy, I cannot imagine more power. W rating does not really indicate how powerfull in flight it will feel

Decisions decisions decisions. So what's the pros and cons of these 2 setups or is as simple as the 32 Max having just a little bit more power over the 24-4 at the expense of flight time. Perhaps there's magical ingredient I'm unaware of.

Jag 72 has a lot of experience with both setups. Pm him for details but I know the 24-4 on 10s is silly power......Ron
