Hi

What is the difference of motors having various Kv such as 3000Kv - 4000Kv or more, when continuous Amp are the same ???

What different should i get from a motor rated at 3000kv with 20A continuous 30A burst 3S battery from a 4000Kv with the same specs ?

Hope i made myself clear.

Multiply the KV #with the batt. voltage. So your 3000 KV times the Batt voltage which may be around 10 volts under load giving the motor RPM of 30,000. Make sense??

Ohhh now i got it. Does it also had to do with calculating headspeed ?

What would be the difference of having more rpms ?

Could a 1050kv motor fly a heli ?

Thanks

Not to good at it but I manage to fumble my way through it. I have an old LMH chopper that originally had a glow motor in it. I had a low KV motor about 2500 I think.Had to figure the gear ratio to get about 2000 rotor speed. Had to make a hub on the lathe to make one of the gears from a 550 Hurricane work. That and around a 15 tooth gear on the motor works fine. If I remember the optimum RPM of the motor is a certain % lower than the KV. Hope this helps.

Very good head speed calculator here, courtesy of BruceW on the Freak:

You would fit your kV to your battery pack and gearing, for example a 1050 kV motor would fly a T-Rex 600 with a 12T or 13T pinion more than fine on a 8S battery pack.
