Hi,

I've something odd with the above set-up?
I've bound the RX and I know GY401's inside out, but when I turn on the TX and then the RX I can't get things to do the same thing every time. The gyro is set-up on the switch

Some times the RX lights are soild and the gyro is in HH.
Some times the RX lights flash and the gyro is in rate.
Some times one RX light is solid and the other flashes and the gyro is in Rate
Some times it works as it should (solid RX lights, gyro in HH)

ETC ETC.

I've found that if the gyro fires up in rate the RX lights flash, if I turn off and on again the RX the gyro will go to HH but the RX lights flash !!!!!!!

What's going on

Any help please.

As you know, the 401 must be initialized in HH mode (I know you know that)...

I believe your problem lies in the "Quick Connect" feature.
If you have a flashing light on the rx, that is a clear indication that "Quick Connect" has occurred. I know of no other instance that will make the rx lights flash.

1st, you should have bound your receiver with the switch on HH.
If your gyro is giving you a problem, not only cycle power on the helicopter, but also cycle power on the radio.

The receiver is memorizing the last signal from the tx, even with the rx powered down. The only way to fully reset and reinitialize the gyro is to cycle power to both tx and rx.

I had a similar problem as you. Since I figured it out, I have yet to see these anomalies reoccur.

Thanks for that Dood.

I tried cycleing the power before, but with no luck. But it seems to be working now as I have re-bound the RX again.

This seems to have solved the problem. Maybe the first bond didn't quite work, or maybe, as you said, I had the gryo in rate by mistake when I bound it first time, I don't know???

Anyway, it seems OK now. I've fully cycled the power about 20 times, and every time I am getting HH on the gyro and two solid red lights on the RX's.

Thanks
