I agree with BJ, who cares just fly your heli. I'll be ordering some of the stuff as soon as I use up my last 2 gallons of CP 15%($26 at the lhs!).

will wash your heli for a quarter

Great

Its the best bang for the buck. The fuel runs great. Our club has been using it for years. Buzz is a great guy to deal with. If you get a big order together, and you are part of a helicopter club, he will give an even greater discount, so we can't go wrong. Fuel usually only takes two days to get to us, and thats from Colorado to Wisconsin.

I can't see paying the huge prices some of the guys on here are paying for the other brands of fuel.

You fly RC helicopters? Can I have a ride?

Well needing to know "what's in it" before flying it is a bit weird.

Do you know what is in the "artificial and natural flavorings" in almost all foods? What is it?? Don't know but it tastes good.

What are they building at Area 51 with our tax dollars? Don't know but I'm sure it's pretty cool stuff.

What is in the secret KFC formula? Don't know but it will probably clog your arteries.

We all deal everyday with products that we have no idea what is in it. None of those companies are being asked to provide their "secret formula" on an open forum. Why should Magnum fuel divulge their secrets? This is business for God's sake.

I have tried the new formula and besides some idle issues which I am working on the fuel runs GREAT. I don't really give a crap what's in it. Just like my frosted mini wheats.

Have you tried the fuel with a YS91 with the proprietary plugs?

No I have not. I am running OS engines and have not gotten one of the plugs yet. It has been with a standard OS#8 up to this point.

Timbers,

How can your club have running THIS fuel for years, when it is a NEW, EXPERIMENTAL blend?

The new fuel does indeed run a little different. I have no clue what's in it but I know Buzz from many years of buying over 55 gallons a year just for my own use and I trust him.

I have 8 gallons of the new fuel here and will be doing more testing tomorrow with the several of the new plugs. There is an additional 24 gallons being tested here as well. If the testing goes well and I can tell you that this fuel has great promise, it will be a viable alternative to expensive 30%. It makes just as much power upstairs as any 30% available today, even the 30% Magnum that I still use.

There are several pilots at the Hoosier Heli Rumble testing this fuel as well and the reports are that the machines are running strong. Y'all better hope this works, it's going to be the difference in having fuel that you can afford versus expensive fuel that no one will want to pay $35-50 a gallon for in the near future.

Just in case anyone cares, Homeland Security is making it tough on anyone with more than 400#'s of NM and the reporting that is required is extreme. Even if the Chinese nitro plant comes back online, I like the idea of an alternative solution.

Remember, no one is holding anyone hostage to buy what Buzz is making.

Pinecone, et al.

This is my fault. I sort of hijacked this thread by talking about the new blend from Magnum. My appoligies to frickey295.

Many people have mentioned they they've been running Magnum fuel for years. They are talking about the normal Mangum fuel, not the new blend, and they are answering frickey295's original question.

Again, sorry I clouded the purpose of this thread.

Just a note for those following these threads, I felt a few notes need to be added. Those of us in the business of Manufacturing Models fuels follow the rules set forth by the Department of Homeland Security of a regular basis. We comply with numerous city, state, and federal regulation and have done so for years.
This not new and there is no problems with doing so. As in all industries today, raw materials are becoming expensive. This does not mean it will go away.
