It's definitely OS91-HZ ! Align got the first batch of OS new designed engines and rebrand them. There was already a small amount of new engines in stock in Taiwan and we have got more than 20 flights (trex700) with it.It's apparently more power, much quieter, and less vibration. Seems OS did a great job this time!

Um, no, the OS has always made more power than the YS. Now we might have the same smoothness too. In other words why go YS with its lower power and extra pump complexity???

Name me a pro who flies YS91's? I can't think of any...

There is a reason the Pro's fly OS - POWER baby!!

At first glance the carb looks different to the one pictured here:

http://runryder.com/helicopter/t428...highlight=os+hz
http://www.keimod.com/shop/product_...products_id=424

I think it is the same though, just that the mixing arm is not fitted to the Align carb. Probably in the box!

I know the YS 91ST is not strong as the OS 91 or the YS SR.
By the way, markus kim and danny szabo using the YS 91SR.

I gotta agree with the YS group on this one. I like O.S. engines and still fly them, but IMO the 91SR produces more power than any of the currently available OS engines unmodified. We'll see with the new 91HZ though.

Yeah, the pro's also get a new one, when it the OS engine leans out in flight and overheats. You and me would get to buy a new one. Name me an OS 90 size engine that didn't have a lean out midrange problem? Sorry but you cant.

I disagree. The OS engines made more power than the YS91ST, Power is about the same with the new YS91SR. Steven Gerrard, Jason Bell, Dino Spadaccini, Danny Szabo...I know there are a quite a few more out there..

I believe it will be unlikely that Align will sell their rebranded engines in the U.S.

Debate is great to yield the wait. Come on Align and ship that crate!

I was bored. I don't care what it is package it in a kit and ship it. I have already planted the seeds with my wife. :P

BTW: Yeah if nitro keeps going up in price that would take me out. I am a family guy.

Sorry Droid, that sure looks like an HZ to me. Looks like OS let Align have the Crown Jewels outta da gate. Nice work Align!!

Thanks for the heads up on who flies YS guys. I could care less about a midrange issue on an OS Engine. That's what a CarbSmart or MultiGov Pro are for. I care about power and OS has never let me down!

yeah who sit's long enough in the midrange to worry about the mixture?
Anyway if you have half a brain you can open the dossifier a wee bit and solve the problem if it's really a problem to you.

and judging by the cost of align parts which by the way ARE cheaper than OS and given they are simply OS rebranded engines it's going to mean value wise they are right up there or you can buy a more expensive YS that you can't get parts for at times.

I'm not down on YS....Just think that the value of OS with align on board is higher.

well, i guess that's fine, kind of a bandaid fix really, but whatever works.

BTW, what the heck is that heatsink thing on the backplate??? Did OS just have a bunch of those sitting around since the C-spec days and need to get rid of them???

Big and important question...

Which head heat sink provides better cooling! Once its covered up by the fan shroud, you'll never see it again.

Does the back plate gets so hot it really needs a heat sink there?
The back plate heat sink needs to be removed if you plan on using the Spektrum rev sensor.

Will these engines still require the OMI carb mod $$$ to prevent leaning?

hmmm good one gforce, seems the hyper head has more space between the fins, and the regular head has less space between fins.Prob the hyber has better cooling because its got more air moving over and around it, hell anybody got a better answer.

Visually, the black finned version appear to be a better heat dissipater because all the fins are directly connected to the head.

The blue fin version have fines that are all elevated with only the center area can transmit the heat to them all.

I think in reality it's purpose is to cool the crankcase fuel/air charge and therefore increase power.
