After viewing those videos, I am impressed with the 3D performance of the stock setup. However, I noticed that when it comes to landing, those main blades stop spinning quickly...does it mean we are losing lots of force due to friction...or I should say, a very tight belt tension? I am not good in physics but when I see something stop spinning quickly, usually it means lots of friction somewhere in the system. Please correct me if I mistaken anything. Don't get me wrong, I am interested to get one, but I just want to understand more.

My protos takes about 10sec to complete stop the rotor when it comes at 2800rpm.

Thanks guys. Actually I don't really care how long does it take for those blades to stop. As long as I can fly this thing with 5+ mins (sport to 3D flying), I am fine with it. What would be the ideal servos for cyclic and esc? How about 9650 for cyclic and align 60a for esc? Thanks!

HI Discus, depending on the batteries you chose 5+ min flights are easily obtainable, I get 7+ min on a 6s A123 set up. I have a friend that gets over 8 minutes on a 5s 3700 set up. The 9650 are a great choice and are recommended by MSH for this heli, the manual even gives you the correct rod lengths. The Align 60A ESC is used by many Protos owners and I have only heard of one that caused any problem and that was a glitching problem. The Protos is a great heli; I love the way mine flys.

One possibility could be the way the pinion was pressed onto the motor shaft hub. If it is pressed all the way down, the pinion will be rubbing on the hub while not under power.

To mitigate this, press the pinion all the way down, but then use an exacto razor blade to wedge in between the bottom of the hub and pinion. This will create a small gap between the pinion and hub, and that is exactly you want. There will still be room for the E clip fit on.
