I want to install my solid-G on my synergy - there is on option to install it on the rear part closer to the main shaft and far from the engine, but more exposed to oil, or install it under the canopy - closer to the engine and far from the main shaft, but well protected.

What is best?

Less vibration, well protected.

Distance to the main shaft means nothing

On my raptor50 I have it on the front along with the receiver. Works fine.

Keep it inside the canopy. It will be cleaner and safer.

Ya what they said !!! Under the canopy on my 600N, well protected, nice clean look for the heli. I was amazed where the oil goes when inverted.

you can put it anywhere and it works

all parts of the heli rotate the same degree... it does not need to be close to the shaft to work properly.

Even at the tail.. when the heli 'yaws' the tail moves laterally.. but also rotates the exact same amount as the middle of the heli... if it does not your tail is no longer connected to the body of the heli and you have a much bigger problem

I know the angle is the same, but I don't know how much the gyro is sensitive to lateral acceleration (which in rotation, it is stronger the far you get from the rotation axle). I guess it does a bit, but it is negligible.
