I know some of the parts from the Kinetic 50 fit the Raven. Does anyone know if the feathering spindle is one of the interchangeable parts? I like to support the local hobby shop, and he can only order parts that Tower carries. They carry the Kinetic parts, but not the Raven parts. Thanks in advance.

It should be the same. Likewise, which shop in Hawaii carries Kinetic parts? BTW, did you get the starter cone? Never heard back if it was received.

Good Morning Ray!

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was the same, so I ordered one last night. The Shop is ALoha Hobbies in the 99 Ranch Marketplace. Ran by Scott Halverson. Nice guy. Good shop. No, I never did receive the starter cone. Thanks for trying though. I really appreciate the effort though. On a side note, I'll be in Guam from the 26th to the 30th of July. I would love to come meet you and see your fleet and flying field. I think I am staying at the Coral Hotel or something like that.

Ray, or anyone else with the knowledge:

Does anyone have a list of the parts that are not interchangeable between the Raven and Kinetic? Thanks.

The only thing that comes to mind is the control system. The Kinetic heli uses mechanical control system (mCCPM) while the Raven uses CCPM. All other parts should be compatible.

Thanks Ray!

That's great news. Now I can order most parts locally. Thanks.

other then the control system the driven tail parts are an upgrade that will go on ther kinetic, but the kinetic uses the the hawk non driven parts, and yes the feather shaft is the same, however the mainhub is different as well as the conecting hardware to the flybar.

I have posted all of the differences many times over the past few years, and here are some (beside the eCCPM control system) that come to mind.

1 - the Raven uses a machined aluminum clutch bell instead of the plastic one from the Hawk.

2 - The Raven uses the same tail rotor as the Predator with the machined steel hub that has the spindles machined as part of it, and blade grips that have two radial and one thrust bearing in each, secured to the hub with a locknut. The Kinetic uses the one from the Hawk, that has an aluminum hub with blade grips that only use one bearing and that uses the attaching 3mm hex bolts as the spindle (IMHO, this is an important & pricey difference)

3 - The Raven uses an autorotation system that incorporates a CTD (constant tail drive) unit to drive the tail allowing it to do aerobatic and backwards autos (another important and pricey difference).

4 - The Raven uses the same fully metal CNC swashplate as the Predator - the Kinetic uses the same one as the Hawk. (another important and pricey difference).

5 - The Raven uses a smaller version of the Predator's main rotor head block that is also CNC machined and that incorporates a clamping system at its' base (another important difference)

6 - The Raven incorporates the same heavy duty flybar control yoke as the Predator not the separate flybar control arms from the Hawk.

7 - The Raven has different flybar paddles then the Kinetic.

8 - The Raven comes with a very good set of composite 600mm mainblades, the Kinetic comes with woodies. (another important and pricey difference).

These are a lot of important differences that IMHO not only make the slight price difference well worth it, but also make it more of a smaller Predator then a bigger Hawk

Wow, thanks to both of you. That list will help a lot.
