hello

i need to buy some gears (upper and lower) for my 450 ... which is the appropriate gear, 109 0r 106.

i am assuming they are for different head speed ... but which is for high and which is for low HS? i am guessing the 109 will only fit with the 25t tail pulley gear

look forward to your response ... khan

i knew that the 106/25t is to slow down the tail, while 109/22t is to rev up the tail

but what is the appropriate range for each of the gearings?

say if i run my ship at 2600 rpm, what is the appropriate gearing so then the tail holds well under relatively heavy pitch movements

look forward to your experience/knowledge

khan

4000-4200kv, 9T.
3500-3800kv, 11T.
2800-3000kv, 13T.
2300-2500kv, 15T.
From this you should be able to find what your looking for?

Stick with the 109 gear. You should only need the 106 w/25,If head speed is over 3000rpm.

what you say makes perfect sense to me now. The reason I had initially posted the question about # of tooth is because I suspected I was using the wrong tail gear (for my head speed) - my tail would give under heavy pitch movement).

I was using 25t, which gives lower tail rotor speed ... i should instead speed it up, since my head speed is relatively slow (way less than 3K).
