Hi, is it normal for it to feel really notchy compared to like a 3550KV motor? i was suprised it didnt spin as freely. is this normal.

im going to mount the 55a esc under my battery tray, is this ok?

Yes.
im going to mount the 55a esc under my battery tray, is this ok?
Some people have reported heat issues. Most have opted for a side mounting. It's a big ESC

If the 3550kv motor you are referring to is an inrunner, then compared to that, the outrunner is going to fell very notchy. The Scorpion -6 and the 3595 kv,-8 both are notchy like all outrunners.
