The controller for my G3.5 broke toda. s there any way to purchase a new one or get this repaired? I took it apart and the small pin for the lever that the spring is attached to on the elevator lever broke off. Now my elevator stick just flops around and doesn't return to center. The pin that broke off is part of the controller body.

Thanks,
Peter

I'd get a hold of RealFlight, ask them.

Thanks Heli.
I e-mailed them and haven't eard back yet. In the meantime I got on their site and started sifting through the support pages. It seems this is a very common break. Most folks are sending their controllers in for repair/replacement while others are coming up with the fix themselves. I'll give them a day or 2 to answer.

Thanks again,
Peter

Yep, that is how mine broke. I now plug my radio into the transmitter box to run Real Flight G3.5.

Same thing happened to me a year ago. Got a replacement from realflight without any trouble. Since I live in Norway, the replacement took forever (three weeks I think) so I ended up repairing the controller by using a small screw istead of the small lever to hold the spring while I waited for the replacement. I have to say that the tiny plastic lever doesn't look durable.

Well it turns out I didn't have to wait a day or 2 at all. Real Flight support answered my e-mail in a couple of hours! It turns out this is a fairly common break and some folks have had multiple breaks while others have been trouble free for years. I have read where a few people are repairing their controllers on their own rather than sending them in for repair. It seems the repaired or replaced controllers have no improvements made to the design and construction on the weak pin that breaks.I haven't decided on which direction I'm going on this one yet. I have this sim as well as Phoenix , and fly the Heli on the Phoenix most of the time. I primarily use the G3 for flying on-line and flying planks so I'm not stuck with out anything to fly on. I'm going to take another look at what is involed in repairig it by the servo screw method or send it in before I decide .
