Hey John,

How we coming on those new, prepainted canopies? Do you have timeframe, cost, expected availability?

I talked to JB over the weekend.
He said that in his last shipment the pre painted glass canopys are in his hands. He was a bit upset about some of the work. Finger prints on the paint and such. I would think (knowing JB) he is wearing white gloves and going thru every one of them. He did say they look great!

The canopies I received are prototypes in every meaning of the word. Nonetheless, if I can manage to take some pictures later in the week I'll see about posting them (I'm moving slow since having knee surgery last week). They're actually look decent but "not" something I would sell as I received them because the paint is too thick in places, there is a big old fingerprint in one of them, and I want some further reinforcement in places. That said, they're basically OK and for what it's worth, the contractor is quite receptive to resolving the issues I've raised and hence, are working hard to rectify the issues. I'll have another set in my hands in another couple of weeks at which point I'll likely pull the trigger on making them. By the way, I'm not going to make a lot of them so if you really want one you need to let me know because they're hand made and this, simply put, means they take a considerable amount of time to complete a batch of them. Hmmm, perhaps I should put a picture of them on our website and accept preorders. What do you think guys? Anyway, like I said, forgive me not having pictures up yet but I really can't move around normally yet.

Regards,

Yes, I think pictures and pre-orders makes a LOT of sense.

Hey guys, you don't even know if they're pretty yet! Anyway, I go to the knee surgeon later today for the first post-op visit and I expect he'll take stitches out and counsel me on exercises and limitations beyond "take it easy and keep the weight off", which is all he's said so far. I'll try to get some pictures taken soon and post them here if not on the website so you can at least see what I'm planning on. Basically, I have in mind three paint schemes. More details to follow ASAP.

I agree with pics and pre-orders. Smart business decision for you. At the same time, if you get a enough pre-orders, you can negotiate a lower price based on volume. What is the potential price range right now? I am certainly interested in one.

I have seen the prototypes and can say that they look very nice.

They will compliment the Pantera nicely and the best part is that they are very light weight which will cut out lots of weight over the stock plastic canopy.

Not the best picture but my knee really limits my mobility. There are three basic designs, and they'll be available for both the Pantera and Wildcat. For what it's worth, the Pantera canopy fits the Tiger as well. Since I'm not making a lot at a time (they're time consuming to do), as soon as I can I'll get these listed so you may preorder.

John, I really dig that flag canopy. It would look sweet setting under a set of Mavrikk Patriots.

Any idea on what the pricing will be like? (I just might pre-order a Patriot canopy).

Flag canopy

Same here I like the flag canopy as well. Looks like something else to bling the Pantera with later

I like the yellow and orange and would love to have one to put on my Tiger. Where do you stand on this John? Is the quality of what you received going to work? Can you post a price and availability?

DID anybody notice the bird in the forground??!!

SWEET!! Hey JB is that the Wildcat in the forground or am I just seeing things?! Is that really the WC or just another heli to mock up the canopy on? Am I wrong in thinking that it looks bigger than the 325 you had at the IRCHA last year? I'm thinking I see a Pantera stable mate!! NEED more info please.

first thing my eyes went to, was the wildcat. Sure, my BBC (when I get there) will need one of those sweet FG canopies, but I am so salivating for the wildcat.

Just went back to that thread, noticed the photos are gone. Bummed.

even more off topic: anyone else taking a break from wrenching a bird that they're trying to fly tomorrow, or is it just me that wasted a good flying day to get two or three maiden flights in on Sunday?
