Hi all I know i haven't posted in a while.
I have been getting some good flying in latly even though we have just moved in a new house.
After having a little mishap were dumb thumbs took over and i landed on her starboard side.. DAMAGE one set of blades and feathering shaft. After rebuild (yes i balanced blades) i have vibration in tail (up & down) I was wondering if it might be a slight bend in main shaft. as every thing appears to look fine.
any and all ideas would be appreciated..
THANX ALL

Check the main shaft by removing it and rolling it on a sheet of glass, any bend should be apparent.

Is it your HBK2 you crashed?

If yes, also check the tail shaft especially as you crashed on the starboard side.

Bill36 are you still learning? If so let a little vibration go as long as its not violently bobbing up and down enough to make the tail hit the dirt. And a little advice during the newbie stage run the blades a little loose than normal so some of the energy gets absorbed in the crash. I still have my original main shaft from my king just removed it because the new frame requires a shorter shaft Those things are pretty tough you almost break the frame before the mainshaft.

I have crashed 7 times and broken my frame twice, and I am still on my original main shaft.

Also check the balance of the main blades. They could be off thus throwing off the tail up and down.

My thanx to all who answered. I have found the problem.. After changing out main shaft and feathering shaft. double checking blade blance. I skipped something simple BLADE TRACKING. After tracking in the blades everything smothed right out. and shes flying great again..

Once again thanx to every one this is one great forum

good deal. I was curious a tail bouncing up and down vertically on spoolup is usually in the upper part of the head the rotor mass but then will turn into a high frequency vibe when hovering.
