Well after much research and recommendations on other kits. I am now the soon to be proud owner of an Avro. I ordered it today and should see it by next week or so. Can't wait and I hope I can get it built by our local fun fly for the weekend of the July 25th.

now any idea on blades, paddles and tail blade combo besides the one suggested on their setup guide? I'll be in the stable to sport area the rest of this year.

Here is what I've tried:

Blades:
Rotortech 3D 710s - good roll rate... Efficient. Predictable FFF. Good autos.

CY 690s (normal not stick banger) - good roll rate, not as much punch as I was hoping for. Predictable FFF. less hang time in autos.

CY 710s (stick bangers) good roll rate... Only had one flight before I blew 'em up. But I'd try them again.

V-Blades 710s (Older silver tip v2) very good roll rate. Best for stationary maneuvers, worst for FFF. Not efficient. Not predictable FFF. ok for autos.

Paddles:
CY Stubz - Not enough bite on these little guys. Even without weights. Good for FFF, but roll rate is not fast enough.

CY Super Stubz - Very active. Use with weights to adjust to your taste.

Running Neal's suggested setup in revised setup doc that he issued a few months ago.

Using SAB FAI paddles and Scott Gray Rotortech 720mm F3c blades very stable but responsive when you want it.

Neal recommends radix tails to prevent any unwanted vibrations etc so I changed the NHP's I had spare to radix 105's.

I'm running FAI/Stable setup as per the manual.
SAB FAI paddles, Rotortech 720's (not Scott Gray's) Radix 105 tail blades.
Loads of power (YS91SR) and beautifully smooth on the aero's

Welcome to the club
