After my Zpower Z30A inexplicably blew its guts out, I'm back to shopping for a motor for my Trex 600 (*sigh* ) This new Hacker motor looks promising, anyone have experience or know more details about it?

I believe someone here on RR. was testing it before it's release. Do a search.

Yup, you're right- don't know why it didn't turn up in my previous search. They seem mainly to be testing on a Logo 500. I'm interested as a 6S motor on the Trex 600.... Looks like it really performs on the Logo though.

Im looking for a new motor also , been through 1 x 600L , 2 x 600XL and my NEU motor now has noisy bearings and dont seem to have the kick it used too , even when using new TP extremes.

Will this work with the align 100amp ESC ?

I'm sure it would, Hacker rates the motor at 90A peak. If I get one I plan on using the stock 75A Align ESC.

What I'd like to know is whether it could handle an 8S setup (with a different ESC). The Logo reports were 6S.

I too have been going through motors like they were cheap- which it seems they are, at least in manufacturing or design. First a 600L (bearings blew, but that after some crashes), then another 600L (gets very hot and high current draw, though sorta flyable), 600XL (sheared the shaft in short order), ZPower Z30A (magnets broke loose and jammed up the rotor, why?), so now back to the old hot 600L and short flight times to keep from cooking things, just so I can fly her.

The 600L that finally gave up its bearings was the most long lived and best compromise so far, though I liked the power of the Z30A. I might get another... or this Hacker, or go 8S with a Neu. Then I gotta dump all those packs, and get a new ESC and new packs to boot.

Cheaper to get a 550-sized heli and transfer my electronics and power setup stuff.

I thought about going 8S or even 12S but then you have the ESC to buy and have to start again buying lipos.

I decided to just keep her as standard but get the best motor I can .

To many other heli to think about also can not just spoil this one.

Just wondering, On your Z30a. Did you mount the pinion or use a spacer to keep tension on the bearing?

Heli 770- on the Z30, I used a Trex 450 main shaft collar (had a load of them lying around) between the bearing and the Mikado pinion. Fits perfectly. I learned that you need to do this the hard way- motor shifted down and chewed up a main gear on ~the 6th flight.

lightningrc- yeah exactly. Funny how our aspirations seem to far outstrip the budget. Still I think for agressive flying an 8S setup on the 600 might be best. that's why it dawned on me today that maybe I really should switch to a good Swift or Logo.

I use my 600 E for practicing smooth slow moves but its power is down quite alot compared to my 600N.

helimatt if you were to go 8S what set up would you use ? and motor pinion etc.

Plus how would you mount the packs , dont want to add alot of weight to the front if can be helped .

I know I could use smaller mah lipos like 2 x 4S 3500 lipos but then the flight time would suffer ! I think

Also I want to stick to Align as ive got boxes and boxes of spares for the E and N.
