Hi all, I have a little dominator 20. I'm finding out that there are some factory defects and was wondering if I'm alone. First of all, the bore through the auto hub where the main mast fits is not bored on center. (makes it shake) I had to shim the lower main gear because if you assemble it the way the instructions say, The two gears rub each other. Another problem area is the swash plate. If you have pan head screws holding the swash plate together, it needs to be reworked. On my machine, Tilting the swash plate 10 degrees in any direction will cause the plastic rod ends to come in contact with the pan head screws. I also found that the ball link that drives the tail pitch lever is not long enough. It barely reaches into the pitch lever. Anyone else have these problems?

Can you shoot a pic of this? I haven't heard of anyone having a auto hub that is bored off center. I have heard of the gear being a little out of true.

On the gears rubbing. Did you try flipping the gear over to see if there is a difference. The gear issue has been discussed at length, and most have found that flipping the gear over fixed the issue.

I have had the same experience with the swash. On some of the swashes the clearance was off. I know that QWW is addressing that issue. With one of my swashes, I ground away a little bit where the screws thread in and that relieved the issue.

On the tail, you should use a longest ball for it. You should have had some in the kit. If not let QWW know and they will get some out to you.

Well, Here is the issue. I didn't build it. Bought it off of ebay already built. I did flip the gear over and it rubbed the frame and the clutch bell. So I shimmed the fiber spacer and all is well. The swash plate should have been assembled with flat head screws. This way there is no chance for interference. QWW charged me $20. to fix it, which I think is BS. I will look into the longer ball for the tail. As far as the auto hub goes, I ordered a new one and it was worse than the original. When I told QWW I am a machinist and described the issue at hand, I think Irwin grabbed all he had on the shelf and started measuring them. He sent me a new sleeve that was within .003" He also told me that he made 300 pieces, he had 25 left on the shelf and no one has complained. I think I just got the end of the run when the tools begin to dull. He says they are precision ground. If that is the case, the grinder is out. I'm waiting on the swash plate, and I will try to post some pics of the auto hub sleeve. Another issue was the manual I got with it is not the pro series. If the person I bought it from used this manual, I don't know how he did it. Some of the info in this manual is useful and some of it is not.

Also been there, done that and gave up.

Mine is in a parts in a packet - stripped out the motor, muffler and blades to use in a converted Raptor 60 and I fly every weekend all weekend till they chase me off the flight line!

Anyone want the parts (includes CNC tail, spare gears, painted canopy, most head parts, auto hub etc) can have whats left - just pay insured airmail postage [THIS OFFER HAS BEEN TAKEN UP]

BTW - doubt if the auto hub is off centre - measure the distance of the four mounting holes in the main gear to the outer edge of the gear and you will find this is where the problem is. I redrilled four new holes accuratley and it was OK

To fix the rubbing gears - put the auto hub assembly in a vice and "tap" the side where the washer goes (top section)- the bottom gear will then move down. Be careful - as the same way it goes down - it can go up again.
