Alright, so my neighbor has been hogging my bandwidth on my wireless router because I do not have a password to it. I went to my gateway thing to get to the settings, but it asks for a password and a username. Where do I get these!

Secure your router, it's that simple.

Call your router vendor and they will talk you thru it, k?

hey
For my wireless router, the default setting was to type admin in the username field and leave the password blank...

Try the suggestion earlier and if that doesn't work then try mine

Thanks

Make so sure that your router's configuration cannot be accessed from outside of your LAN network, otherwise the kiddie cockroaches will suck like a tic

You should be able to download a current manual and the latest firmware for your router from http://www.LinkSys.com.

To change the router password, look in the administation setting
for router access, router password.

to use Don't Steal My Bandwidth go into basic wireless settings and
look for router name ( SSID )

Also enable MAC address filtering - this can be used to prevent unwanted devices from connecting.

PS - and is also going to be pointed out by someone, ALL these suggestions CAN be circumvented , but if the person has the skill to do this then chances are, they really have no reason to be breaking into your network.
