Well it happened to me on Friday. Went to the field to get a couple of flights in. I brought my Freya and Sceadu 50 with me. I figured I would start out and get a couple of quick flights on the 50. Did my preflight check and all looked good. Took off and started to cruse around. Wen to roll and the nose tucked really bad. I caught it and brought it back around. She felt really mushy. I tried the roll again and she tucked again. at that point I knew something was wrong. Brought her in and it was a fight to get the helicopter to the ground. Everything felt wrong. When I shut down and stopped the blades I found the washout base had slipped of the pins, I had the radius block too high. One of the other guys at the field saw it and we were both surprised that it came down in one piece. Chock on up to a learned experience. I am curious who else has had this happen.

Whats crazy is you went and tried to roll it again after it tucked the first time! Dang, the first sign of anything slightly not right I bring it in asap. Congrats on the save.

had that happen on my swm evo .50

i you let the servos droop down the washout can rotate..

the worst part about it is that i knew to watch out for it before i flew it..

but got it down without a mishap.

Good Save

Rob Landry.

Same thing cost me a few bucks on my Freya the other day too. I lifted up into a hover and the controls were so rubbish that the heli tuck in and hit the ground.
Brand new blades also.....

Really sucks

You know thats the funny part. I had last flown my Freya which has BLS451's on it. A lot smoother and cleaner feel. I have some slow Hitec high torque servos on the 50. I thought I just screwed up the roll entering it and the heli was just sluggish from what I remembered. The day before I had test flown a Fokker Dr1 tri-plane with an aft CG and it was supper touchy. So I thought it was me until the second tuck. I was ready to auto it in if need be because it was so awful to fly. 5 years and never had this problem. Oh well.

Happened to me as well just under a year ago. I had the radius block set close, but there was just enough flex in the system to allow it to pop out. I could have sworn it was good.

Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.
