Hi all, I have a raptor 50 lying around without an engine or main blades. I also have a OS 30 engine and a set 30 carbon blades. I would like to combine these and make myself a crasher heli that i can try new things out on before doing them on my pride and joy. What i would like to know is does the 30 have the same gearing as the 50 and would i need to change any thing on the heli to get it to fly like a standard raptor 30.

Thanks Steve

The gearing for the 30 is 9.6, its 8.5 on the 50, also the motor mount is different.

The boom and belt are no big deal as long as you fly the shorter main blades.

I think you'll need a 30 size fan also (gray one) - drop a note in the classifieds, someone might have the mount/fan/gears from a 50 upgrade laying around.

An OS .30 will be underpowered for any thing but sport flying but you will get long flight times....20 minutes
