I am just getting back into heli's I purchased the JR XP9303 heli radio which I was going to sell, now I am going to keep. The question I have is, is the 2.4 ghz better or is the xp9303 version still a good radio, I did purchase the one without module. So I know that I have to purchase. I have never used the 2.4 ghz radio, so I am not sure what the biggest differances is. Hopefully I will be fine with XP9303 PCM.

Its good, the 2.4 version is better.

The differences are with the x9303 you get model match which means if you have the wrong model selected the transmitter and receiver wont link up. The module based version, even with a 2.4ghz module, doesn't offer that.

Also the resoultion is better on the native system with a 9channel receiever. The x9303 also includes something called servo synch where the ccpm servo position updates are grouped together.

They are minor differences in practice except model match which I suspect has saved a number of models for different people by now and an even greater number of hot starts.

Although you will not have the features BarraudaHockey mentioned, I'd recommend getting the 2.4ghz module, and just plugging it in the back.

I did, and it works great. Much better than say the DX7. I'm sure someone will take offense to that but.... That is the way I see it.

The antenna mounts on top of the old antenna. It is just a matter of pulling out the old antenna, replacing it with the new one and same with the module, out with the old 72 mhz and in with the new 2.4ghz. The wire from the module to the antenna is external, but there is a mod on this web site somewhere that shows how to run it internally.

Sorry no pics.
