I'd say its highly likely that Align have slowed production a little and increased QC for the 700N. This is to be their flagship and everything they've done so far with the pre-release to all the field reps suggests that they want this heli to have as few problems as possible.
That would be my guess as to why they are trickling out of the factory.
Even at their slowed down rate they already have more 700Ns out there then Auroras.

Look through all the 700N build posts popping up, I havn't read of any QC issues.

My only 2 issue with my 700N has been the paper thin canopy, that had some cracks from the factory in the clear, and the washers used to shim the main shaft being too thick..Everything went together fine, very easy kit to build..I would of liked to see the frame design be a little narrower and not so wide, but it looks as if it doesn't affect the performance of the heli..We shall see..I will have some pics up very soon..

I think they meant for the canopy to be flexible so its easy to get on and off the 4 point canopy posts. My Fury canopy is a B#$%H to get on and off because it is rather stiff. But as far as QC goes my kit went together with only one issue and it was like everyone else in regards to the mainshaft shims..but it wasn't anything that couldn't be solved with some very light dremel/sanding wheel work to get the smallest one down to about .4mm
(actually .6 I just messured it) vs .8mm Other than that you can tell Align really paid attention to their tolerances with the 700. Just a little radio electronic work to finish and tomorrow I'll have maiden voyage!

ill add to tha complaint about the main shaft shim!!! Near impossible to even put the smaller shim in! gotta find a different shim for that! But overall the build was super smooth and fast! cant wait to fly it

Lap the .03in/.076mm shim down to .020 in/.50mm and it should fit fine.
If that does not work then loosen up the bearing blocks install the shim, mainshaft and jbolt then tighten up the bearing blocks.
