I am interested in getting a trex500 but have heard alt about glitches due to static I was wondering how much of a problem this is and has align done anything to combat the issue. I have heard of how people make it better but I am wondering how easily the problem can be fixed and if it is a real issue that a lot of people have. Also where can i get one with no motor or anything just the kit and blades.

torque tube

It's glitch free and flies smoother. Perfect little heli. Try grandrc.com. They have the BEST deals around.

And many people crashing due to it.....I've flown mine 10 times now. No problems with the TT upgrade. Well worth the money.

Very cool. Thanks for the info. That place has great prices. What size main blades would you suggest on it. I haven't flown in a while and don't plan on doing any more than hover and froward flight for a while After I get flying my raptor for a while again I will probably get one.
How stable are they.

Get a metal tail box and it will ground the tail boom out. Just for added measure, I use some silicone spray on the belt and main gear applied every 5 to 8 flights, so far no probs. From all the vids I've seen, the main source of static is the main gear which is the same whether or not you are using the belt of torque tube. The metal box on all the vids completely eliminated the static in the belt and tail.

Mine has 20+ flights on it now with ZERO static issues

Heli is bog standard. Haven't done any 'anti-static' measures, don't use any spray.

Using Spektrum AR7000 rx.

Static........what static

Get one.......you'll love it

Ground the boom and spray the belt. No problem.

For instance the Joker kits include a boom ground in the standard kit.

Not a big deal.

keepin' it real

mine is stk with over a hundred flights with not a single glitch useing the futaba fasst system.

My favorite heli out of my fleet it gets 95% of my flight time.

personaly after starting on tourqe tubes and going to belts i'll never go back to tourqe tubes, nothing but problem's however i have not flown the align tt, maybye it's better.

I agree with centuryman. I've only got maybe 50 flights on my 500 but its been rock solid from day one.My 50 nitros are gathering dust this thing is so much fun. It's just my opinion but torque tubes are just not as user friendly when your working on new stuff ( meaning crashing alot ). It takes a much better pilot than me to feel the difference between either system. Just my 2 cents

I also agree with Century.

If you have Spektrum and you don't spray the belt, you're taking a big risk.

i am running with a 72mhz standard tx but I am looking at getting into spectrum so that is good to know but if I simply run a metal tail box and some spary and I will be good to go. I am wondering if it is operator error more than anything. haha but I will defiantly not take any risks and do all the anti static stuff that I can.
Thanks

I spray with pure silicone before every flying session.

I use KEL.

The 500 is prone to static reset.

Bone stock GF kit here, Spektrum, glitch free. I have lubed the belt one time with Tri-Flow, nothing since. Sweet heli and it's fast too.

96 flights, first with 72mhz, then with Futaba FASST.
Never had any static issue. The 500 is stock, no spray, no grounding, no metal tailcase.

What I thought at first was static issues was infact a gyro on too tight, removed the tie wrap and no more problems.
