So I got 3 orders in today ... well lets call it 2 orders and a sample

The first is an eBay purchase for the $55 Align 430L+35A esc combo. The second is my HD order that includes some Align parts (for an actual Align heli this time ), a pair of outrage batteries and some blade decals to try. And the 3rd is a sample from HK

Lets just say I am a happy camper today

I want one of those outrage packs, I was just thinking of trying one out. All the reviews say they are the best battery on the market so they should be perfect for my TREX since its the best heli on the market.

I won't believe for a second that the Outrage packs are better quality that the Cellpros but rather they are a higher C rating. That should help them run cooler. I have really liked the Cellpro packs but this head is too hard on them.

I'm running those Outrage packs and the highest surface temp I've recoreded as 104F with an ambient of 90f. During the same day, my FMA 1300 25c pack was at 120F.

Cool great info greg are outrage packs discharge curve comparable to FMA as far as seat of the pants or thumbs to heli feel. my FMA started to swell yesterday 100+ in my workshop 90 outside and I was putting the REX through some FF with piros and popups. I didnt record temps but it was easily 30+ over ambient. A damn thats hot scenario hotter than the motor. I guess Ill start bringing my helis and charging gear in the house with the AC.

I ask cause I can feel through the sticks the FMA 18c has more power than the align 20c.

I have a couple of the FMA 2200 25C packs coming. Brand Loyalty.

I do that because I called Howard today, and asked him how much would it be if I sent him back a recently purchased 2100 18C pack, which I accidentally arced when soldering. I went to fly with it and could hear the motor changing pitch constantly.

Anyway, he said since i had gotten it within 30 or 60 days, just send it back and they would send me a new pack for free. EVEN when it was ME who screwed it up in the first place.

Gotta love FMA, They might be a little more than some others, but I completely respect their customer service and the way they stand by their packs!!

I'm currently only running my packs down to 80%. With the kind of flying I'm currently doing, all of my packs feel strong all the way until the end. However, the Outrage packs have an audibly higher head speed throughout the flight.

Well I will give my report some time soon.

I will say that the FMA customer support is good although I have not received a reply to the last email I sent. I may just send it again.

Thanks thats what I was looking for. Its the same way between align and FMA. I guess I was using the discharge curve term a little vaguely. Its not like the power is much more noticeable but you can definitely hear the difference almost like there is an extra volt or two in the pack. I really could tell the difference in a HK pack to the FMA a 2200mah was faster and hotter than a much lighter 1500mah.

Guess I will break away from brand loyalty as Triple B said FMA customer service is top notch but outrage claims the same have to wait to hear about that one.

the outrage packs are the bomb. i accuired a tp 2070 pack and for the weight he outrage pack is way better i ordered my second one today. i just flew a pack and i had to land fast cause i realized im probly over the discharge rate. sure enough discharged it 90%, but it still had head speed. the cell pro(yes i finally listened to the reasoning voice of the esky brotheren end bought one)said it was at 11.75 volts and 12% fuel.good pack no puff.
