I liked watching the artillery guys try to pull our Chinook into position and hook the sling. The bolt of static electricity was awesome. Usually the smoking glove scared everyone away. Some times we would then have to use our hookpole to snag the sling donut.

What was even more awesome was when the 10,000 lb concrete block for practice sling loads would get punched to practice autos while hovering out of ground effect. If it was winter at Ft. Campbell, then that thing would go so deep into the mud, you need a bulldozer to dig it out.
