Do you know how to make vario benzin or acrobat or any other gassers front mount capable.

That means moving everything behind the rotor shaft. Like servos , tank ,engine etc.

Does any one make side frames which I can buy and use it on gasser like Benzin, Acrobat or cuatro and make it front mount capable.

I know many people have done this , if any body is willing to share or sell their ideas let me know.

( I am currently planning to use CF 34 of copterfilms as camera mount )

I believe Copterfilms will be able to make up a frame connection for you. Just send them an email with the details and dimensions you require.

Thanks, I do know about bergen and have read many posts.

I want to have a very very stable and reliable machine with proven machanics like Vario to have a front mount capability.

bergen's are good machines from what I have read , but I first want to try my choice at making a Vario like good quality gasser into a front mount capable.

The Bergin's nice but the advantage of the CF34 mount is that you have complete pan/tilt/roll stabilisation.

I'm surprised Copterfilms can't help you out as they have always been flexible when I've dealt with them. Have you specifically requested them to supply an adaptor kit with the mount?

If indeed they can't it might be that you have to build your own with materials from somewhere like McMaster.

Sure CopterFilms has been very friendly with me and I have had great communication.

I believe the CopterFilms CopterCam is their own patented side frame design which they don't sell alone , they sell the whole setup as turnkey.

I would have loved to buy their side frames and mechanics and fix it up my self if they sold it like that.

Issue is my budget has got reduced to 5000USD (without electronics or setup ) but I am not able to now buy their setup in this cost.

I will look up McMaster.

Thanks

Thanks UHC,
High Spy sells only turnkey and their helicopter is more than five times my budget mentioned. However their helicopter comes fully loaded it also has base Carvec.

The link for the Highspy heli with CF camera mount!

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t420123p1/

It could be a good business oportunity, as they can lower the price, and with your budget you get an already proven machine, one of the best available, including everything, just add camera.

Puneetp take a look at the photos on this Whirly Bird unit for sale. It was a Vari variant that is set up for a front mount. I believe it is sold at this time, but the pictures may guide you.

Getting rid of vibes on a front mount gasser is really going to be tough.

If you haven't gotten the gasser yet I would suggest an electric but if you really want a gasser get a bergen observer it will save time and money in the long run.

Juan : I personally like electric machines , but their limited weight lifting capacity and the support equipment I will have to carry seems over whelming. ( like generators etc )

All this setup is for broadcast and professional filming setup where my team will be gone for days to a remote location. So payload capacity and less support equipment becomes a critical deciding factor.

I have debated my self after tough war to get out of electric and look for fuel based machine.

Methanol based fuel transportaion was an issue so I started to inlined towards gasser. This option is open as I can work my way around this to an extent.

I do want to go with front mount tunkey setup where they have taken care of vibration issues.

Copter films is currently best fit for the quality I am looking at but not coming under my budget.

Thanks UHC for the link.

Eric : Thanks for the Whirly bird link , I have heard mixed reviews about them so I din't go this machine when it was for sale. But side frame picture will be helpful.

I know little about Whirlybird, but it is Vario based, and was around many years ago. That being said, usually proven helicopter systems get more attention here on Runryder, and W.B. has not. If I was looking to spend $8000 plus on a heli I would go XLV gasoline over a Whirlybird anyday, and save some money in the process.

And the Acrobatic has been fine since 2006 for me.

It's doable. I'll have to find an old video clip of mine which was shot with this bird which had zero vibration in the video:
.

.
I will be selling her in the same mint condition as you see in the photo. But, I'm still not certain whether I will sell her because I'm too lazy to pack her for shipping .

Oh, and there's your answer for a front mount on a Vario gasser. I think .

It would be nice to see Heliprods helicopter being used. It is the only helicopter we have ever sold in kit form and it has proven a mistake on our part doing so. The last I heard, there was no money to complete the build and it hadn't been flown.

We would happily support whoever buys this machine as it would be wrong to have one of our helicopters under performing. The Vario Trainer build instructions are all that is required to put the basic machine together. Any mods including Carvec can be purchased through us. We can even give whoever a quote to re-build it as a complete "works" Heliball 323.

We have never fitted either the Copterfilm or the Copterworks mount to our helicopters but there is no reason either cannot be made to work well.
