Pledge is great stuff, I use it on all my plastic stuff especially
plexi-glass windsheilds and helmet sheilds and let's not forget car
headlight lenses! Regular use will keep that stuff from foging/hazing
over time! Windex is a no no for plastic is will cause scratches
if there is dirt on the surface! Also don't use paper towels they
are too abrasive! Cloth rags only

i use a auto cleaner for mufflers its called autosol and it gives you a mirror finish for not alot of work

Used this on my last muffler which wasn't too dirty yet.

It's like lightly saturated cotton you rub on metal and it makes mufflers and plank spinners almost like chrome. It takes a little effort, but not nearly as much as a buffing wheel.
