whats the headspeed on that setup?
with my 12s setups on the 2500 packs i only get 4 minutes or less depending on motor and headspeed.

witch brings me to my next question, what are the gearing options?

How much does the heli weigh rtf with 12s 2500 packs?

And finally how much room is there for bigger motors, like a 1910 or a scorpion 4035?

The headspeed was 2100

current gearing is 8.5, 85 tooth main gear and 10 tooth pinion

I'm sure Rusty will jump in when he see's this and report his machines weight.

so the 8.5 gear ratio is the only gearing available?

If so it has the same problem as the knight 600e,witch is the reason i won't buy one of theme either. I like to try different motors and voltage combos and ect. and one gear ratio really limits your options.
there are alot of good 12s motors that are no where near 480 kv.however the new scorpion 4035 motor's at 500 and 560 kv would be good canidates if they would fit.and the century 650a motor is 565 kv and it performs well on 12s.

I'm assumeing the head will handle alot more then 2100 headspeed, being all cnc , right.

Yeah, we run the Nitro at 2200 with no problems. I've seen my son's Rex 600E with Rotorworks frames on 6S with a NEU motor and it is insane, I'm thinking we can get the same out of the Z50 on 8S in the RJX E50

what is the pitch on the maingear? maybye smebody else's pinion's would work.the motor and battery combo's that work for me would put the headspeed between 2600 and 2900 at 8.5 gear ratio. I LIKE HEADSPEED BUT THAT'S EVEN A BIT MUCH FOR ME.I like to stay between 2200 and 2500 for my flying style, above 2500 the controls are to sensitive plus run times are very bad.

were running the new helical cut main gear and pinion, with the straight cut gear there were some 87 tooth main gears a few years ago, then RJX went to the 85 tooth and now the 85 tooth helical set

"E" X50

Two Outrage 6s batteries with RjX 450KV, weight ready to fly with batteries and CF blades 7lb.9oz we get between 4.5 and 5 mins with a 2100 head speed. temps stay within range running the CC110.

Its a pity that the frames are so close together. I would love to convert to electric but the thought of 4 minute run times is a not that inspiring. Would like 6 minutes at a minimum.

We fly the Eco Xtreme on 6S 5370mA packs, ok for smooth 3D, but with the 2x KongPower 4S 3200mA its a hole diffrent bird. Motor is a Z-Power Z50A 800KV, and we run the stock RJX ESC.

Very nice and quiet with plenty of 3D power.

that's a pretty good weight for a 12s setup.i think my lightest 12s bird is my swift 620 at 7.5 pounds, my other's are close to 8 pounds or over.In my weights i have the 3200 pack's mostly ,sometimes i run the 2500 pack's witch takes off 8 oz ,but the lowerr amp capibility is noticed in a big power loss even with being half pound lighter.

You should give a set of 30c 3200 packs a try, with the 12s setups ive done every one has had alot more power on those batteries.they can pull a peak of 192 amps witch at 44.4 volts is 11.42 hp comared to the 125 amps of the 2500 packs at 7.43hp. untill i tryed the 2500 packs i didn't think i was pulling that much hp but i gues i must if i get alot more power out of the 3200 pack's. aperentley the motors can put out alot more hp then there spec's claim.

I do have a scorpion that actully claims it can run a continous 4200 watts witch is 5.6 hp and i know you can usually spike a motor to twice it's continoius watt or hp rateing witch it the scorpion's case would be 11 hp.

I find it hard to beleive that a 600e heli could possibly require that much hp even for extreme 3d, but nobody has offered up another explanation yet.my theory is that it's the combination of 2500 headspeed with widechord 620 blades and 14/14 pitch with fast servos that can go from fullnegitve to full positive pitch very fast.and of course somebody dumb enough to put there heli through that kind of torture on a daily bases.

What you NEED to do is change the main gear and pinion for the Raptor 50 main gear and pinions. The RJX will not hold. Even the new main gears will strip on 8S.

Take a look there, much more space for the battery's.

This is how the X50-E should be!

Hi,

I am half way getting my E-Xtreme 50 done. Waiting for my Jive and Scorpion motor.

Can someone show me a picture of how you mount the battery ? I am using 2 * 6S 2500 packs for now...will go higher mah if needed, but still with 12S configure.
