Or just use solar panels, the sun is a pretty clean energy source

flowing water generates electricity too.

I'm thinking perhaps Hydrogen is the way of the future. It's storage has merits over using batteries to store electricity.
In the short term, perhaps a bloody great big solar cell at your field will satisfy charging needs. Then all you need is a healthy pair of knees, bicycle and trailer, to transport your gear to and from the field.

C54fun and I have the same LHS, right now it's $22 per gallon for Youngblood 30%, my LHS just got 40 cases of it.

Ahh . . . the naive . . . and what, exactly, runs the generator that powers the charger for your battery? Oh yea, typically some kind of hydrocarbon (read: fuel)!! Keep in mind that electricity is not so much an energy source, as it is an energy transfer media . . .

When it comes to a discussion about saving fuel in our cars, then you're dead on right. But this discussion is about not paying for higher nitro prices, and last I checked, nobody runs a gen off of 30%Cool Power

expensive?

Here in CZ I pay about 48$ for a gallon of 10%!! Not that it's so much more expensive to import, but the distributors make HUGE margins! We roughly pay everything 1.5 to 2 times more than you guys in the US!
Hopefully with this hobby getting more and more popular and the possibility to buy from the net, it should level things a little...

RAPPY TAPPY I just checked out that link, maybe we should start another thread as to not hijack this one,but that really would be a great way to power electric gear quietly ,cleanly, and with 0 emmissions. We can enjoy our hobby and have a 0 carbon footprint, everybody wins

thats actually the problem now,the hobby is VERY popular and supply/production has just about halted. The problem I see is the same thing going on with gas.Once the LHS see that people are willing to pay ANYTHING for fuel why would prices go back to where they were?,they may drop SOME.Just like gasoline it keeps creeping up,we pay and pay and even when they up production,or report that production is staying constant,it never really drops back down anything significant.and since there are so many people in this hobby who will buy the fuel at any price, they will get their asking price

I wonder why some LHS our still selling at a good price, even well getting new shippments of fuel and some are at $36.00 a gallon???? Theres a big differeince between $22 a gallon and $36. And I doupt that the owner of the store where Eury is shopping will lose money to sell fuel. Are some LHS just jacking up because they know they can?

My LHS intentionally keeps the fuel prices low, always has, but he doesn't lose money on it, he makes money. He just doesn't jack it up like a lot of places do just because he can. He told me it went up by $2 a gallon from before, so that's what he raised his prices. If your LHS raised it $10-$20 like some seem to, they are screwing you and lying about the reason they are doing it.

Like I said, fresh stock, he called me on Friday to tell me he just got 40 cases in, and the price had gone up $2 a gallon to $22. I told him thanks, but I didn't need any more and had just bought a Spectra from him, so I didn't anticipate a need any time soon.

Your LHS is stealing from you if they told you that the price went way up.

Eury your not flying to Mankato anytime soon, How many cases can you stuff in that plane
If Eurys LHS is only paying $2 more a gallon this should be the same across the board I would think.???? Something doesn't smell right with this hole fuel deal. Wait, that might just be me

Hmmm, fuel delivery service.... I think the price of my plane would outweigh any savings! If only the feds would let me carry hazmat.

Get a bunch of guys together and come down in a big SUV. Buy a ton of fuel and come fly with me for the day. That's gotta be worth 8 hours in the car.

If anything is explosive it's hydrogen. Hydrogen has a long history but still even rocket scientists have troubles with it (think space shuttle...) Personally I'd prefer charging lipos over hydrogen.

I would go electric but I can not seem to get the CG to stay. After I fly for a period of time the cg shifts aft because of the less weight of the battery from burning off the electrons

All I can tell you is that my LHS said it only went up $2 a gallon for the Wildcat Youngblood 30%. I can't imagine them lying so they'd lose money.
