I was using the AR7100 but decided to use the AR9000 and run the servo's on 6v till they figure out something with the antenna on the AR7100.

The main receiver antenna comes detached from the rest of the receiver. Not good. There isn's a service bulletin posted yet, but it sounds like there should be.
Hopefully it is a temporary problem, and it's a hit or miss thing. Seems it affected a certain batch.

Maybe the solution was "Solder training held"

read all about it on THIS THREAD

OK Thanks Dood, I never realised there was a potential problem with the 7100 series Rx's, hmm Oh well, I will read that thread in detail and check the Spektrum site for updates, I haven't purchased one yet, but I'm not far off from doing so..

AAU is due for touch down in Aussie late this month

I see alot of people are having problems with the Antenna breaking off their 2.4 receiver and looking at he pics of how people are setting up their receivers that could be the problem. Iam about to put a 2.4 receiver in my Aurora but there is no way I would mount it bare back like I see in most of the pics I have always wrap my receivers in alteast 1/2 inch foam, that could be the cause of the Antenna breaking off ( jsut a thought )

I like the hole you made in the velcro strap on the gyro for the wire to pass through. No that is a good idea. I doubt I ever would have thought about anything so simple.

Wire Hangers

I'm also a wiring perfectionist. I noticed many of you guys using wire hangers that bolt to the frame. Where can I find them?

Thanks

Sorry I'm late posting!

Well here is the day I've been waiting for!
Here's the pic's of my wiring job!

I custom machined the front gyro mount to use three out of the four bolt holes and under cut the right rear of the mount to still use the wiretie for the gyro wire.

All the carbon parts are wet sanded in every hole and edge with 400 grit, CA'd, then 800 grit wet sanded and then polished with Mothers mag wheel polish!
