Hi Kva

I have just found out why you are having problems with the electric starter and I’m very concerned for your safety, I had no idea the 600 fan hub just clamps on to the 6mm bolt head that holds the hub on,
I would change that as soon as possible
You could make a simple bolt with a long and thicker head the same diameter as the OS 50 crank for the hub to grip on to
Fixit,
I have also been thinking about doing some modification for this bolt. However 600 fan hub sits quite well on bolt's head. I was thinking about doing some small shaft which screws into engine shaft and would allow tightening fan hub with the nut from the top.

Fixit, could you add 600 fan hub to your drawing for me to better understand your solution.

Ignition system will limit it, but I would sure like to try it myself..I'm sure this engine can do more than a 231 because of its size for as RPM..
We can find a fix for the ignition....

The ignition module is designed to work up to 2000 for use on the marine version when using a 4 cell pack, its only 1200 when a 3 cell is used.

I go with bill and think with the right muffler it will be very capable.
I’ve recently fitted a tuned pipe on my 600G but the weathers been poor for the last three weeks so I haven’t tried it yet but I'm very hopeful it will have made a big difference.

Tuned Pipe melting Teflon joint

The Tuned Pipe on the 600G seemed great after a few short flights, it sounded well and the performance was much better than with the Century V2 but today I've had big problems with it, the Teflon join melted and the pipe went purple in color after a good flight today, I changed the joint for silicone and set the low needle rich until the plug was black and the tail kicked like crazy but the pipe still got very hot and the silicone joint also melted,
I've been watching the engine temp and it’s never run hot before but the muffler looks and smells like it's stinking hot, the plug was a nice chocolate drown before fitting the pipe and was the same with the tuned pipe on untill I opened the low up today. It sounds great and flys fine, the piston isn’t showing any signs of heat damaged either.
This is a video of me trying the pipe out yesterday.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPUTEWOF928

I'm running the 27 pinion and the head clocked at 1950 before I adjusted the low needle today. I’m baffled and need to know if I’m doing something wrong or is this pipe just too restrictive for this setup.

Your right Ace it is bogging badly, as well as having far to much pitch it looks to be running very rich judging by the smoke,
I have little bit leaned mixture, increased RPM limiter from 11,300RPM to 13,000RPM, lifted throttle curves. Performance has changed significantly!
I wanted to see what this heli can do in good hands. My friend Epkencijus tried my gasser in 3D flight.
I watched the flight... It was absolutely crazy! This gasser over exceeded my expectations. Good pilot can do amazing things with Trex gasser. Of course heli is heavy comparing to nitro but it was NOT like the pig in the air.
Please see the flight on youtube.

Well Apart from scaring the Bull half to death the video was good to watch, the heli is flying very well for a 20cc.
Well done

Awesome!

Someone tell me why anyone needs a nitro machine?? That was great with the bull, I loved seeing him tip toe right and left trying to figure out which way to go. You should have played with him a little more

The 3D pilot landed short! He flew a nitro flight, still had a half tank plus left in the machine!! Looks like you can put a good 15 minute 3D flight and come back with some reserves...

You can compare with Trex 600 nitro flight Epkencijus did just after the gasser. Of course there is some difference in performance.

Very nice video, I wish there was a conversion I could buy without making stuff myself or giving money to Paul Mecha.

I dunno Raja, Personally I've got no desire to fly for 15 minutes, heck, 10 minutes is too long for me if I'm really pushing it. 8 is more than enough for my attention span.

It is still bogging badly but the pilot is so good on the stick that he doesn't get into trouble. I am thinking over long term the engine is going to suffer and for some people this might be acceptable. After all the Align is a light duty heli anyway so they might be whipped at the same time. You would have to break down the economics as to whether this is the right route to take or not. My hat goes off to the pilot though.

Epkencijus

Have a question, when doing the funnels, did you feel you were fighting to keep the machine in its position (inverted)? Like a balancing act?
I have a reason for asking this question...

I still think you need to drop a tooth on the pinion....

Excellent power management!

Guys, thanks for your good responses!
Then doing funnels and backward flips a little balancing was required to keep the position of the heli. I think it was due to heli’s CG was little bit forward.

Hi Fixit

If your engien is running well ( not to hot ), and the header and muffler are perfectly aligned, and both the teflon and the silicone
coupler is cracking, what about trying out some steel flex coupler,
or perhaps go the "shiro way" http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...?top=1216035143
