I have 2 HS-81's and a HS-81MG laying around. Will these be better for the tail over the S75 ? I really dont want to spend $75 on the DS3400G.

- 0.09 sec @ 6.0v
- 36.00 oz/in @ 4.8v
- 42.00 oz/in @ 6.0v
- 1.20 x 0.50 x 1.20 inches
- 0.58 ounces

I use the HS-81mg on my tail and it works fine. Same speed as the 75's and I believe it has more torque. Also, it I haven't been able to break it, no matter how hard I smash it into the ground, so that's good.

What gyro are you using? I've read that if you’re going the 401 route, the 81 won't work. They're supposedly not compatible. You mentioned the 3400 as the tail servo; I'm not sure if the 770 is compatible with the 81.

where did you hear that StevenT? I had a trex450 and had a HS-81 and a 401 on it, seemed to work fine. Glad i seen this topic I also had wondered if the HS-81 would be good for this heli.

Good to see someone else from paulding County on here also.

lots of planes, MCPX

epoweredrc,
I'm not sure exactly, but I believe that I read it somewhere. Well, the 81 is analog and if I remember correctly the 401 won't work with analog servos. If yours worked, maybe it will for a time, and then break... I'm not sure. Hells yeah. What club are you with, if any? Where do you fly?

Vendetta,
My G110/81 combo seems fine for FFF and basic 3d, but I have noticed it won't hold in FRF. Could have been the wind, but I have read other people having the same problem.

Thanks Steven, what mid-priced servo will hold well in FRF and hard 3D? Thanks

Well, from what I can tell from flying and from what I've read, holding the tail in FFF, FRF, and 3D is mainly the gyro's responsibility. So, to answer your question... the 401/9254 combo seems to be the way to go. If I could afford it, that is what I would put on my heli. There are comparable servo/gyro combos that are less expensive, but not many and the 401/9254 has lots of supporters. I hope I answered your question.

thanks, I never heard that, its the way the heli came, I fly at the Paulding county club over at the dump behind seven hills.

I go to CCRC for the heli events and electric fly and swap meets and things. used to belong to douglas county untill this year and I didn't rejoin. where do you fly at?

I fly mostly electric and fly my smaller planes here at my house also. I live on 3.25 acreas.
