Probably loaded with Bovine Growth Hormones, Potato, probably fertilized with Sewer Sludge, Fresh vegies, most likely from Monsanto, and being GM Seeds, can't even flush em down the commode, without a lawsuit.
Only saving grace is the Jim Beam and Coke. Cept the damn coke has Corn Syrup in it, and it causes cancer. and Diabetes.
Guess I could go to strait Beam and Water, but water has too much Chlorine in it,
Water from Wallyworld is 4.00 a flat, so drink cost is going up.l
**** it, Im going clubing. Cheaper.
Might find some sweet thing, without aids. and go drink some coffee, at Whataburger, after closing. WHAT A LIFE.
Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be better.

Honey, where's the check book, it's Fedex again

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE NEOCON:

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare
his morning coffee. The water is clean and safe because some tree-hugging
liberal fought for maximum water-quality standards.
With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His
medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to
insure their safety and that they work as advertised.
All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical
plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid
medical insurance - and now Joe gets it, too.
He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe
to eat because some girlie-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the
meat-packing industry.
In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is
properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents
because some crybaby granola liberal fought for his right to know what he
was putting on his body.
Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air is clean
because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop
industries from polluting our atmosphere.
He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to
work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees
because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public
transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with good pay, medical
benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some commie leftist
union members fought and died for these working standards.
Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't
want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes
unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because
some ridiculous liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his
temporary misfortune.
It's noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some
bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some godless
liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who gamed
the banking system just before the Great Depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his
below-market federal student loan because some liberal whiner decided that
Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned
more money over his lifetime.
Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at
his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is
among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal traitor
fought for car safety standards.
He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live
in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't
want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some
big-government liberal (FDR) stuck his nose where it didn't belong and
created the rural electrification act.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on
Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking,
quiche-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe
wouldn't have to.
Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk
show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives
are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved conservative Republicans
fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.
Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our
lives! After all, I'm a self-made man! All Americans should take care of
themselves, just as I have.

WOW

What a load of CRAP!! Yea lets not mention how those UNIONS are destroing the automobile industry. And lets not talk about how the teachers unions are destroying our schools. There are teachers in New York who have been "disciplined" for innapropriate behaviors and because they are "UNION" workers, they can not fire them so these worthless teachers get to go to a special building each day and sit there and basically do nothing and still draw there salaries and eventually there retirement???? Unions along with all the taxes that industry has to pay (thanks to the democrats) is driving our work over seas to other countries. If the income tax and federal taxes were repealed we would have such incredible "stimulus" by all these industries returning there manufacturing sites to America. Sorry, I am not exactly loving the republicans these days because they have caved on most of the principles that makes a republican a conservative but I cant sit here and read a piece of crap like that and let you get away with it. As though all of the things listed in your fairy tale were only accomplished by liberals. Im all for "common sense" economics and industry standards and the like but what I dont want is for America to be turned into a giant assisted living center which is exactly what you guys want to see happen.

Did he crash? Dang I missed it!

Exactly!!

Government is the one INDUSTRY that has never cut back. It never reduces in size or controls its spending (on either side). Our forfathers never intended for government to be as it is today. Governments true function was to primarily protect our borders and our way of life. The free market, capatalistic society is the greatest form of society ever and that free market would solve all of our ills as companies compete for better quality and price. We have politicians who have never run a company in their life thinking that they can be scientists, doctors, farmers, lawyers, teachers etc better than those who went to school for those careers. If the government would just relax their stranglehold on this market i believe that our society would be better for it. We are more worried about being politically correct than we are in taking care of the basic needs all around us. We put the "Golden Cheeked Warbler" ahead of the millions of people living in squaler, unable to keep up with the rising cost of fuel and food. But do we allow more drilling here on our own land? NO! We might hurt a bird or a polor bear for heavens sake. Somehow our priorities are all messed up.

Did he crash? Dang I missed it!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE NEOCON - author unknown, 2004
Russ Sobel replies:

"Joe's neighbor, Bob, also gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water. His faucet has a water purifier on it, purchased from some big company, because his city water department has failed to meet the mandated water standards set by the government for 10 years running, and nothing is ever done. He envies his brother Sam who lives in Jersey City, N.J., because they had the same problem, but privatized their water system and now the quality is better than it has ever been * even passing the government's own standards for the first time. That company knows if it fails to meet the standards, it will go out of business, unlike a government utility company.

"Bob finishes his coffee and goes in to wake his 5 year old daughter, who is dying from a rare form of liver disease. A private, for-profit company has developed medicine that can cure the disease, but the drug has been stuck in the FDA government approval process for years, and will likely be delayed until after she is dead. On the internet Bob has seen that this drug is available in other countries with less government regulation of drugs, but he can't afford to go there to get it. Medical marijuana would also help his daughter's pain, but that too is illegal because of Bob's government.

"Bob has lost his job. Actually two. The first job loss happened after the union formed and drove up the labor costs at the company where he worked. The plant could not compete with plants in other states after that. He finally got another job, but when the union there went on strike, that plant laid off some workers after the wage increases. Even though Bob was a more productive worker than many of the others, he was laid off because he had less seniority. He never liked the union but was forced to pay dues to the union at both jobs.

"Bob's son, Mike, has a learning disability. He attends the local public school, which offers only a limited amount of help for his son's disability. There is a private school in Mike's town that offers much better help for kids like Mike, but Bob can't afford to send him there. He wishes he could take his tax money that goes to support the public school with him to help pay for the better schooling at the private school. Bob has heard of a "voucher" plan that would allow this, but both his Liberal and Conservative friends are too busy arguing about whether or not to teach religion in public school to consider vouchers.

"Sunday evening comes and Bob's two children are staying with their grandparents. Bob wants to have a rare romantic evening with his partner, Patrick. Yes, Bob is gay. Bob thought about getting some wine, but he can't in his state because the Conservatives have passed laws forbidding the purchase of alcohol on Sundays. He should have gotten the wine on Saturday but didn't know the parents could keep the kids until Sunday morning. Bob is Jewish, and thinks it's unfair that other religions can tell him when he can drink.

"And while there are private companies willing to offer Bob and Patrick health insurance as a couple, the companies can't because of a state government law forbidding gay marriage. Bob remembers being gay since he was a child and discussing it with his sister, Sally. Sally is married now but has no children. Her reproductive organs were badly damaged during an illegal abortion procedure in the 1960s during a time when the government made abortion illegal.

"A super Wal-Mart has been trying to open in Bob's town. It would save his family almost $100 a month on groceries and household products. But his neighbors have been fighting to keep Wal-Mart from opening because they worry about the local mom and pop businesses in town suffering.

"Bob's parents live on Social Security. They only have about 75 percent of the retirement income they would have had from a private investment, but they couldn't do that on top of their forced contributions to Social Security. The program has been so badly managed that Bob is likely to contribute for years to come and there is a good chance the program won't have any money left at all when he retires. He wishes he could put his retirement money in his local bank where he could earn a higher rate of interest than in social security.

"Bob sees Joe use the subway every day, but Bob never was able to. The subway didn't go anywhere near Bob's place of work. He hears Joe say "public transportation gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor" but Bob feels like he's forced to pay taxes to support it, even though he doesn't use it. It doesn't feel like much of a contribution to him, but rather a robbery. Bob needs a new car to have transportation for work, if he can find it. His car is very old. The new cars are just too expensive these days, with the 10% luxury tax, 6% sales tax, and he knows cars themselves cost about $3,000 more on average due to the cost of installing all of the mandated safety equipment. So he drives an old car that doesn't even have shoulder belts until he can afford a new car.

"Bob listens to his grandparents talk about the great depression, and how unfortunate it was that government policy makers didn't know better about the effects of their policy back then. Harvard researchers have found that the great depression would have only been a mild recession if not for the good intentioned government programs put in place that ended up making things worse and last longer. Back then, the government just didn't know that cutting our money supply, raising taxes, and putting up tariffs would all result in further contractions in the economy, rather than helping.

"Bob goes to take the trash out and sees his liberal neighbor Joe outside. His other, conservative neighbor Fred is also outside. He explains to Joe and Fred that while their programs both have good intentions, that these programs end up hurting other people in the process. So while Joe and Fred are better off, they are hurting the many other Bob's out there.

"Bob is an independent and thinks that well meaning liberals AND conservatives have used government laws and regulations to interfere too much in his life."

- Russ Sobel, 2004

Its the idea of competition leading to greater advancements in all areas of society rather than everything being controlled by the government which would breed more and more complacency and result in lower and lower standards due to a monopoly situatioin. THis is exactly what is happening with education today. If some competition was allowed to compete for the education of our children I think we would see a much different America.

In a true free market what would stop Monopolies from taking over and why doesn't that happen in a regulated market?

I think America has moved away from individual corporation monopolies and into industry monopolies. Lobbyists on the payroll of entire industry use money and "goodies" to dissuade our leaders from casting votes against them.
Anyone on this forum for a while knows my political views and I must say that I was really pissed when I found out that GW refused to negoiate rates with the pharmacuetical companies for drugs used for medicare.
Any halfway sane business person that buys in bulk always negotiates rates. Of course, other than politics, what business has GW EVER been successful at? He failed in the oil business and that sports thing he was part of. His father finally bought him into a business he could half-azz be successful doing.

Not even half-azz. Hard-working (mostly younger) Americans will be paying for Dubya's latest 'biz' failure and downright thievery for decades to come

George "SCREW America" Bush will without doubt go down in history as the most disastrous leader of any political party that this country has ever seen.

It's amazing to me that people could still argue with Sealerman's post. That is one of the most intelligent posts that have been made on this rickety little conservative forum. It truley is a shame how many people are like "aceheli's" and are completly clueless. The argument against unions is absurd. If you didn't have a uninon in many industries, unscrupulous companies would pay the absolute minimum required by law, and if you didn't like it, tough, there would be some immigrant to take your job. WHile some unions are clearly mismanaged, the majority make life better for millions of americans.
