Does it ever happen to you?

You send someone a p.m. and they don't even bother to read it!!

I am not only talking about someone selling something but also people that are supposed to be your flying buddies!!

I gave my cordless starter to a flying buddy when his died last year and I have not seen it since,he hasn't even read the latest p.m. I sent on 5/11/2008.(and he has been on rr 5/15/2008 9.20p.m.)

My life is complicated enough without having to wonder why the freak people won't even bother to read my p.m's.

I think they do read the PMs. It's about having the time to reply.

same reason they don't reply to your posts, they don't love you. Just kidding. But if they are active on this site they should know about pm's. Maybe they don't come here often?

I think it's because they are scared they may have to offer some help.

I say that because I've PM'd several people on this site and another that I see live within 100 miles of me asking if they would be willing to help teach an old man how to fly. Never have had a reply.

He also must like your starter

On a lot of sites I frequent, the PM indicators are so small and obscure that I often miss them! Bottom line is if you really want my attention, use e-mail . . . if it's not that important, then use a PM . . .

Probable time to knock on his door, Or check E-bay for it. Just kidding.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

If a person has time to read a pm they have time to reply to a pm. Some people do not like to get pm's some people just wont reply to one period. How far away does this "buddy" live? I would go and knock on his door and ask for my starter back.

I've only had one guy actually not read a PM. A while back he was selling a MD530 RTF. I PM'd him and asked if it was still available as his for sale thread was not updated if it was sold or not. He replied saying the mechanics was sold but he still had the fuse. He said he was willing to sell the fuse. We agreed on a price and that was the last I heard from him. Sent a couple PM's after and they sat in my sent items folder "unread" even though he was still actively posting. Only thing I could figure was he changed his mind about selling it. Least he could have done was let me know!

Had a couple read a PM but never reply. That comes off as rude, IMHO. Sold one guy a Raptor 90 a while back. Sent him a PM not long ago asking how it was doing. He never replied. Maybe he turned it into a lawn dart? Who knows...

I have no issues with PM's personally. I reply and people reply to me. Pretty simple.

i usually find i get people(usually new people) who pm me about whatever it is im selling, they want pics and shipping costs and total amount and all the little details, so i pm it to them, and then never hear from them again. I would rather get a pm saying no thanks, then leave me hanging.

I even had one guy that didnt reply to my pm in 2 weeks, meantime i had sold the item, then he got mad cuz he had reserved it

if you dont let me know your going to buy it i cant read your mind! LOL

I just canceled the p.m.

well this is the 3rd time that I have canceled a p.m. to this guy over a period of six months so I doubt that he just missed it.

I also had another guy from the flying field never read one so I just canceled it as well.

I am not asking questions but just chatting about what's going on.

I stopped asking questions a long time ago, most of the time I just try and figure it out myself.

I kind of wonder if they even want me around at the flying site?

PM

Kinda like P-OST M-ORTUM,

I have sent a few PM,s One was for someone that is a friend of a friend, it was read and no reply. I was just looking to pick the guys brain about some heli setups.

For the most part I get replies, sometimes not. I understand some people just dont have the time or are picky about replying.

to each their own

Some find typing tedious, especially if they haven't much skill at it. For them it's the replying part that's a problem.

Can't you see the flashing green light? Its the first thing I check when I come on everyday.

I hate when you send one, and no reply. Even if its just a short thanks, or hello. We see that you read them, or not at all.

hi
when you send a PM , it is then in your unread folder , and stays in your unread folder , until they read it , so it is easy to see if it has been read or not , bob

I always read and answer every PM that I get. But what is quite annoying is when people try to contact me and ask if I want to chat and when I reply them they disappear
