I will look in to that.

did all the numbers and ideas today.still no luck just yet.remember im not having a wag it performs great until i get on and off the tail hard. I can keep it from doing it if i take it ez but thats not style so its a big problem for me. Its really wearing me down (SUCKS!!)
i think i will put some more flights on it tonight.

out of patience!!!

I actually considered crashing this thing intentionally from disgust!

I had a tail hub assembly that I had swapped out early on - thinking it was causing my wag. Replacing it seemed to help a little but did not fix it - it took the Jazz to do that. Well I took that spare hub and somewhat reamed it out as CY mentioned. I put the new tail (only slightly modified, nothing drastic) and it returned to a full-on constant wag. A full 2.5 to 3 inches if not more. I even reduced the gain in increments of 10 down to 13!! The wag was actually worse in non-HH mode with this obviously defective tail.

I'm convinced - the tail hub/assembly is faulty on many of these things. I thought to try a logo 10 tail, but the shaft is too thick on the Logo. Can anyone recommend an alternate tail before I lose my mind!?

Thanks,
Ryan

rockinryan, you are right ithink there is aproblem with the tails.

i just got off of the phone with a good freind that works at a hobby shop and he said if its a wag that no matter what you do theres a poblem in the tail if you are sure you know you gy. and if you are having the bouncen problem then its in the EXPO he told me to zero out expo and d/r and use my travels and go from the 150 down to between 75 and 100 and he said u could do this both waysas in using gear to gear between 15 and 30 and gear to gy sens in the 60's.
i will give it a try and report as soon as my batts are ready.

i dont know witch way its pulling

but this is what i do, after im finshed with set up, i go in to normal rated to see if the tail servo is running the right way and ajusted to hover perfect in nm and then put it in hh to see if the gy needs to be reversed, game over.
This is not how to set up a 770 READ the instructions this is not a 401 or a 611 Read the instructions!!!!!!!

Ewe! Rock me Kasama-deus!

I don't know if any of you remember the song I'm referencing in the subject, but the Kasama metal tail is on the way! $50 is way cheaper than me cratering this little turd out of spite!

I can't count the hours I've spent trying to get this thing to fly acceptably... I have a pretty good feeling that the tail will do the trick.

Thanks for the ideas and support!

I dont have the instructions on me. I just took the Kasama tail off and put the stock plastic and stock plastic blades on. Blasted anround and no bounce blinding piros L/h and R/h.. What I remember with a JR radio turn the blades 90 and align them ie: 0 pitch 0 out the rudder trim and sub trim. make sure the ball on the arm is 90 deg. to the pushrod. plug in the battery in HH mode and go fly. if the nose rotates trim land and move the servo on the boom th 0 out thats it. Check the instructions on JR's web site. there is something about not switching from HH to rate or setting it up in rate they must be setup indepently. I only fly in HH. Sorry I'm not more help I am not a home!!!!!

if you move the link on the tail servo horn inward, it should help. Try moving the links around and find the one that gets rid of it. I find that most of the time you need to move it in closer to center.

ok,thanks i printed it out and im right ontime

i never use sub trims or trims on a tail anyway. i only use trim to level my heli out in a hover and then go fly. but i am going to give the manual a very close look and give her some more testing if that dont do it i not going to blame it on the 770 just yet, i am going to put a 401 on there just for kicks to see if tail has problems and not the gy's. will be back ot report in on this.
oH yea, i tryed the zero out thing no good it flew the same bounce, bounce, bounce ,u know bounce!! its become the way of life here, just bounce baby!!

i put a 401 on there and a 9650

same problem.something is wrong with this tail. when i bring it in and come out of idle up you can see it bounce then freeze for a split second and it will do it maybe 2 to 3 times but its does it really fast and does it back to back then stops and its fine craziest thing i have seen a tail doi think the bearing are sticking some way some how.and i believe it because some one showed my a little trend about it.I just cant remember where.

I bet you that has a LOT to do with it. From Align my bearings had Locktite in them and the thrusts had NO grease in them. NEVER use ANY bits from Align that came pre-built. Take it ALL apart and do it right.

OK took it apart and put it back togetherevery greased and loctite

but i did see a problem, did you have to press the thrust bearings back in because i had to, and I'm pretty sure that's not good.because every heli i owned before you had to be careful that they would not fall back out when putting it together. I'm i right or wrong? i think this is causing binding.im trying to think how to ream it out with out messing the tail grips up.

I just left the inner thrust race in there and cleaned out the rest. Seems fine here. The Thrust Balls can rotate on the inner race without the inner race moving so it should be fine. How did the tail look when you took it apart? Any grease in the Thrusts?
