Parsifal -

Go back and re-read my most recent posts. Being against gay marriage is NOT intolerant. The issue is that for every "problem and instance of intolerance" that gays complain about are, in fact, not unique problems to gays, and there are much better solutions to these individual problems than marriage can legally solve.

If you want to hamemr another guys ass behind closed doors, have at it...I couldn't care less. But don't try to explain to me that letting you "get married" is goign to solve your problems, because your problems are not exclusive to fags.

I was recently told by my gay in-law that his friend has to have reconstructive surgery in his anus because he was getting hit to hard back there everyday that his organ failed, and actually came out!!!!

This is the crap you never hear or read about in the news. Its just soo grossly un-natural man.

That has nothing to do with this thread.

Save that stuff for the religious/political threads to spam on.

Just because you have gay relatives doesn't mean they portray the typical gay.

Everyone has small/large problems. Big deal ?

There was nothing religious or political about my last post.

Uh, no...we just try to retain a certain level of logic here, even when battling gay marriage. I'm with you, I personally think fags behavior is scum - BUT - I am wise enough to understand that that is beyond the scope of this thread, and that touting my views of gays is not going to lend me anyones ear. Afterall we're talking about gay marriage, not gay bedroom activities.
I'm out!!!! See ya!!!!!

Brovic, quit pounding your square pegs into the round holes...
Actually, like it or not, OBL stated himself in his "Letter to America" that our support of homosexuals is one of the reasons they attacked us.

Stupid, but for Brovic to make the claim that supporting gays is going to upset Muslim extremists...It is bang on.

Now should we really care? Not really. They are going to attack us for 30 other reasons...But they will use that one as justification.

drdot
I find it amusing and sad that supposedly intelligent folk still think there's an element of choice in sexuality...Wiring is all.
Some studies have shown that, but others don't.

Tintin
I cannot really grasp the eager interest in your neighbours sexlife, I've always considered that a private matter myself.
I agree.
Even between the rest of the animals on this planet homosexuality is common,
It happens, but that does not make it common. Besides, animals kill each other over mates...Does that mean it is OK for Bob to kill Jack over Jill?

Now you are going to claim that humans have decided that murder is wrong...So killing for a mate would be wrong as well. OK, but some humans have said that homosexuality is wrong. The point is, your "animals do it" argument is not a good one.

And some researchers think that when the animals do it, it is a defect since the main reason for sex is to propagate the species. Those defects do serve a purpose; Studies have shown that homosexuality becomes more common when populations are overcrowded. But even that study has flaws.
If they happen to be christan then hey, he said it, his house is open to everybody and he didn't make ANY exceptions,
The "book" also says that homosexuality is wrong. You have to REPENT your sins to be accepted. So a person that was gay could be accepted, just as a person who committed any other sin would be admitted if they repented...Not continued.

The whole religious argument is silly anyway. If you believe in a God, then he will punish them more than you ever could.

Why do gay people have to explain anything to anyone is my question. Marriage was likely thought up to scare philandering men into caring for the kids, and not running around spreading their seed and leaving a bunch of kids (and women) with no ability to fend for themselves. Any other attributes of this union are purely cultural.

what is it about this that offends you so? What? i can think of no other reason than sheer bigotry.

this is not about gay advocacy, rather, my utter disgust at the simpleton logic used by the likes of a religious fundamentalist, applied in a morally superior fashion.

Yes gay people are equivalent to bestialists... that argument is old and worn out. About as old as the 'sanctity' of marriage argument.. with a friggen 50+% divorce rate. I don't know why people want to be associated with a term that has such a terrible record of failure in our modern times, but more power to them if that's what they want.

I think mostly people just want to be able to be able to care for, and be cared by the people that they love in times of need and during the end of life difficulties. The lack of legally recognized unions prevents them from that, and someone they have spent many years with and whom they care deeply about is legally recognized as much as a drinking buddy, which isn't enough.

I also wonder as an aside why those against it spend more time thinking about gay sex than those for it. To get disgusted by it you have to mentally image it and.. wow.. some issues there lol.

I just don't ever want to be asked if my spouse is male or female the way I am asked if I want to speak spanish or english every time I make a phone call.

It is definitely an agenda. Taking the institution of marriage and redefining it in this way will be better for that agenda than all of the in-your-face homosexuality ruining TV combined.

If we could promote RC this well there would be a flying field in every city in this country and a HeliProz channel.

I'm seeing a trend here. You bring something up that is related to homosexuality and the issues that they face, someone addresses it directly, and then you bring something else up. Wash, Rinse, repeat.

The irony of your statement is that the logic shown here is ANYTHING except simpleton. It is direct, pure logic that does not stray from the point. What's the use in being wordy, if the same point can be made with few words? Does this count as simpleton?

I have not applied anything in a morally superior fashion, I have simply stated that marriage is NOT the solution to any of the issues you have proposed. Marriage IS the issue for raising a family, as you pointed out in your first paragraph...
Marriage was likely thought up to scare philandering men into caring for the kids, and not running around spreading their seed and leaving a bunch of kids (and women) with no ability to fend for themselves.
However, regardless of how much you wish it weren't so, the FACT remains that a homosexual couple can NOT have a biological child, period. The only people that can have a biological child is a man and a woman. As you eloquently pointed out, marriage is an institution that was designed to prevent the very things that we observe in modern day inner cities, with baby-daddys and such.

So seeing as this is the natural design of marriage, where do homos get off demanding that they should be included? Explain to me, logically, why they should have any interest in marriage at all? This is just as illogical as a woman complaining because she can't buy a cup to cover her nuts.

Where's the friggin logic in gays getting married??

So if a couple gets married and decides not to have children, are they in your eyes not really "married"? If a couple cannot get pregnant and decide to adopt, are they less "married"? What about artificial insemination, or the countless other methods that people use to start a family when they can't have one? Their children are not biological, but I would guess that they would say that they are no less of a family.

Your logic is crystal clear to anybody that choses to actually open their eyes. Of course I say this because I agree with eveything you've posted. You're wasting precious breath trying to make some of these people see your point, when in effect, they have an agenda - if you get my point. Go fly and have some fun.
I'm off to the next town north and meet Foxden and his son and see him rip it up on his birthday.
This post was thought evoking for a bit, then, as it usually does, erodes into crap.
